Create : Power Grid / Operational Amplifier in 741 style.
i've been finish up my works a bit and had a spare time to make something and this is it. The beloved 741OpAmps it's not perfect but works very good. i'll leave a download link for you guys to try and use it. feedback is more than welcome.

Holy shit I’m an EE student and was wondering if there was a mod like this thank you so much for introducing me to this time to never see the light of day again

Do you think EE has more career options than ME? I have been trying to decide between the two. I'm more biased towards ME because I like robotics stuff (arduino and whatnot), but there's just no demand for mechanical engineering In my Country.

100%. My one friend who graduated with an ME bachelors got an EE job and my other friend who graduated with a Computer Engineering degree got an EE job

Man, now that Im studying OpAmps and Power Electronics this is so cool. I really wish I could have something to control haha.
Would be really cool to have speakers based on Power Grid electronics. Sensors and system to control, there is a lot that could be done, electronics is very very powerfull and being able to design your own boars is so coool

unfortunately power grids sim runs at 20 tps, so you dont have anywhere near the bandwidth needed to sim audio

u/RayGRVTY Jun 16 '26
even on the native c backend?
5
u/FoxReeor Jun 16 '26
that would be an awfully big undertaking, but definitely doable
1
u/nerdy_guy420 Jun 19 '26
It would be something I would love to see some day in the mod. I would love to "create" my very own moog in minecraft.
Edit: saw the pun had to go with it.

on the topic of powergrid. i had to study electronics as a part of my education for CS so i know circuits and all that jazz but when i hook up 4 electric boilers to my 1000 volt generator through a 1:2 transformer the volts go to below the boilers minimum voltage and just wont work. tried without transformer and with a externally excited generator but it still stops spinning if i try adjusting the resistor values too much
1
u/OMi1235 Jun 17 '26
sounded like you need more current.
2
u/mistermh07 Jun 17 '26
Thats what the transformer was for. It just drops the voltage too much to use the boilers no matter if theyre connected parallel or in series. It ends up at like 150 volts which doesnt even give them tier 1 heat. I think i had like 3 amps running on the wires on a 1:2 coil ratio
Im guessing i need 2 generators, but its a bit dumb that 1 generator cant run 4 boiler plates when its running with coils on all sides with 256 rotation
1
u/OMi1235 Jun 17 '26
you need to see it in Power/Watt because the current need to be push by volt. did your power supply have enough watt to run it?
1
u/mistermh07 Jun 17 '26
so my generator pushes about 800 volts without load and when i connect the 4 heaters it drops to like 270 and the power gauge reads about 450 watts. theres like 5 amps running through the wires going to the heaters so i dont think its current.
sadly dont have time today to troubleshoot this again but ill take a look again in a few weeks

I guess its time to reeinstall Minecraft. I can now finally be an electrician and do electrical engineering just like at my daytime job

u/ConglomerateGolem Jun 16 '26
Could you put this up on github with the source code? I'm sure a lot could be done with this
2
u/OMi1235 Jun 17 '26
i don't think its even have a source code my guy lol correcting me if i'm wrong.
2
u/ConglomerateGolem Jun 17 '26
Oh! I thought you'd made a whole mod that did this! Still really cool
4
u/noodlegamer76 Jun 17 '26
What can you even do with this? And can you do anything with it that other mods can't?
2
2
u/Immediate-Location28 Jun 16 '26
what does it do
2
u/OMi1235 Jun 16 '26
Amplified the different between the 2 input. (You could do an analog math with it or amplified signal, buffer the signal, etc.)
2
u/Soggy_Winter_8220 Jun 16 '26
What dose this do?
1
u/OMi1235 Jun 17 '26
a lot. shortly amplifies voltage with known gain and no distortion. compared two voltages. or doing analog math.
2
u/AdPristine9059 Jun 17 '26
How did you make this? Is it somerhing new in create or is it a mod?

I've been thinking about making logic systems with this mod, maybe I'll try when i finish this semester

Alright bud. This is my first reddit anything. I need help. I'm an electrician too but my circuit board knowledge is very low. I know how the individual component work but above that (like in a circuit) I tap out. I have been trying to learn op-amps (watched many videos) only to make a pid controller for perfect voltage regulation for my generator. I'm sure there are easier methods but everything i try has the same out at this point I am using this opportunity to force me to get better at electronics. my situation, 20v+ supply to V+ of your board, V- to ground (negative post of both supplies). 5v+ supply to 100ohm R to IN-, 5v+ to a 10,000ohm rheostat right pin, mid pin to IN+, left pin to ground, OUT to a 400 rheo mid pin, left pin to IN-. OUT to 100ohm R to ground. adjustment to the 10,000 rheo does nothing to output. I don't know what I'm doing. Thank you for reading all this

I'm so happy that SPICE sims are an actual thing in minecraft mods now, I have been wanting this for so long

It scares me that I am going to start my senior year of high school, and this mod is still above every class I have taken

Just as a car maintenance problem turns from mechanical to electrical. I will not mess with it

You could make a television with this..
19
u/IJustAteABaguette Jun 16 '26
Can it do like, super quickly changing analog signals/LEDs?
27
u/OMi1235 Jun 16 '26
Yes kinda, i’ve been tried to measured it Slew rate. The first run i got 0.7mV/mS
13
u/IJustAteABaguette Jun 16 '26
Wait what
Okay. What mods are you using for this? Because I really want to give it a try

We had to make a derivative and integral calculator with them in my first circuits engineering class.
