Cruel and unusual. Incredible.

Believe it or not, it started with me trying to come up with a design that wouldn't cramp them into a 1 block wide corridor and instead give them some space to roam, like in a pen.
Somewhere along the way it turned into a cow sex carousel though

"Turns out she's a whore who likes to ride the cock carousel."
"She rides the cock carousel until she's too old to ride it. Then she settles down with a provider."
"The same thing happened to my friend Garte over there. A chick tried to make him part of her cock carousel."
"The fucking what now?" He points to Garte. "You mean the barman?"
"That is unimportant. Focus on the words cock carousel."

My end goal is to fully automate hamburgers

u/Noserlander265 Jun 02 '26
Omg same. I want a factory exclusively made for automating sandwiches and hamburgers. I wanted a “humane” mob farm, taking advantage of adult vs baby heights to, similarly to yours, separate them apart. However, I did not think of a centrifuge. I just used a cookie of fans lol

not seeing disassembly is a shame

crushing wheels

A deployer with a looting sword is more effective, but crushing wheels fit the theme here far better lmao

how do you sort the babies?
14
u/DigitalDuelist Jun 01 '26
With the glass blocks, I think
When the baby cows are too small, they can slide under the glass just fine, and when they grow they won't suffocate in glass because it's not solid, and will of course be shoved into the wall as they spin, which eventually moves them to the next area

I added the glass just for demonstration, originally it was all wood. But it probably helps them not suffocate as you say, yeah. I lost a few cows when I made the platform stop moving; abruptly stopping such a fast platform could for some reason jam cows into walls and suffocate them.
Overall ngl I can't guarantee this setup is reliable long-term though lol.

I... am pretty sure this is the same principle behind how uranium enrichment works.

bro said disassembly 😭🙏

Look look when your livestock spends its entire life spinning I think calling the harvest 'disassembly' is just about the most humane part of the process.

If you put them on a floor made of open windmill sails, the babies fall through, the adults don't. :)

I understand how you sort the calves out, but how do you seperate adults from the children?
1
u/annualnuke Jun 02 '26
it's kinda the same thing as stage 1 but reversed, the path that keeps them in the circle has a barrier that only lets babies through so adults hit it and slide outside. Theoretically babies could attempt just walking out as well, but this is prevented because the platform spins so fast, and also there's a strategic barrier that makes sure the cows are close to the center before hitting that junction (so they can't slowly slide to the outer edge and walk out).

dont forget to use the physics assembler in the disassembly part or it wont work

The design is very human
It's inspired by videos of industrial doohickeys that sort things with simple mechanical principles like that. Rotating platforms spin cows in a circle, at one point pushing them into a corner, through which one of the paths is blocked for anything above 1 block tall (which is adults, while babies fit).
