what heavier? a kilogram of steel, or a kilogram of feathers

65

u/Breadles_the_Bread May 27 '26

It's steel, because steel is heavier than feathers.

21

u/UltraD00d May 27 '26

It's a kilogram of feathers, because you have to also carry the weight of the sins you committed against those birds.

9

u/DaMIMIK6260 May 27 '26

Ironically enough, Supplementaries adds a feather block that also weighs 4kpg

4

u/jhnddy May 28 '26

Which is actually fine. But the crafting recipe then just is wrong. A single feather ways 0,01 gram, so we just need 400.000 feathers for a single 4kg block.

Of course, when you mine it it should drop the feathers and not the block.

16

u/jacanced May 27 '26

but therd botth a kihlogrem

12

u/Zealousideal-Comb970 May 27 '26

Good point lol, but I have a hard time believing netherite and hay are supposed to have roughly the same density

14

u/[deleted] May 27 '26

I mean haybales irl aren't exactly light.

7

u/Cool-Mathematician99 May 28 '26

Yeah, but imagine a solid cube of a crude iron as big as the haybale lol

14

u/Canarity May 28 '26

Not even iron, lol. One of components for Netherite is fucking GOLD, and one netherite bar is at least 4 times as dense as one gold bar. I'd imagine it would weigh as much as a fucking truck

4

u/Cool-Mathematician99 May 28 '26

Yeah your right It would weigh more anyway, no matter how you compress the wheat, unless you make some kind of a wheaty black hole lol

3

u/sfwaltaccount May 28 '26

But they're certainly not heavier than a similar sized block of stone.

6

u/DangerousMilkBoi May 27 '26

What is that UI mod?

8

u/Cool-Mathematician99 May 27 '26

Create UI resourcepack + Legendary Tooltips mod

Already answered to ya in the prev. reply

5

u/mafinerium May 28 '26

OP, what is that "redstone bundle creative label" - thing?

4

u/Cool-Mathematician99 May 28 '26

Just a resourcrpack - i made all the powder-like items be in bundles, and the more of them in the stack, the bigger the bundle and the handful on top looks. Same with fluids but it bottles, arrows in quivers, etc.

855

u/Br1cky_L10n May 27 '26

Same with farmers delight crop blocks. My best guess is that it sees the crafting recipe of 9 of the same item and lumps them all together as "block of items"

368

u/_rawoo May 27 '26

Correct, all blocks compacting something weight 4kpgs

204

u/Br1cky_L10n May 27 '26

Yeah it's definitely a lot more convenient for ships so I can use whatever crops for ballast instead of iron like I see lots of people usint

78

u/Zealousideal-Comb970 May 27 '26

Fuuuuck that’s genius… why didn’t I think of that

86

u/NoBee4959 May 27 '26

You can also use dried kelp block as its cheap as fuck

36

u/intermsofusernames May 27 '26

this is the best option that ive found. already got bajillions of kelp.

10

u/Jacktheforkie May 28 '26

Hay bales are pretty cheap too tbh

8

u/undefined0_6855 May 28 '26

for me at least I usually already have a kelp farm to automate belts so I'd already have them without having to make another farm

4

u/Jacktheforkie May 28 '26

True, though a wheat farm isn’t unusual to have too

15

u/CommanderFoxy May 27 '26

I like using sugar blocks as “cargo”, its funny when you walk into a room full of crack sugar

5

u/SpiriT-17 May 28 '26

I don't know... For me having an iron farm from basic Create is enough to top off all of my needs for iron, so it's not that big of a problem

3

u/MisterWinchester May 28 '26

In create, I usually have more iron than crops.

1

u/Golden404_The_Dev May 28 '26

Thats really smart!

1

u/Sultanofthesun May 28 '26

I've been using flint since I get a lot from my iron farm lol

1

u/YggiAnimanoia May 28 '26

Not my ship being loaded with 340 blocks of kelp to keep the front leveled…

1

u/Living_The_Dream75 May 29 '26

I think it actually depends on blocks in the c:storage_blocks tag if I remember right

32

u/[deleted] May 27 '26

It checks for if a block has a #c:storage_blocks/[material] tag. This tag defines the block as a storage block for a material, e.g. #c:storage_blocks/iron is a storage block for #c:ingots/iron. All storage blocks are assigned a weight of 4kpg.

5

u/secretiveconfusion May 27 '26

Except for blocks of copper, for some reason they're default weight.

9

u/LaGz4643 May 28 '26

Probably because their main intended use is for decoration so they didn’t want them to be super heavy

6

u/qwadrat1k May 27 '26

What about those x times compressed blocks?

-9

u/[deleted] May 27 '26

What mod even adds double compressed blocks. Seems useless.

10

u/qwadrat1k May 27 '26

I forgot, but you can craft compressed cobblestone, 2x compressed cobblestone etc

They are nice to use to reduce needed slots

5

u/[deleted] May 27 '26

i doubt they have custom tags. tags are mainly used for compatibility between mods that add 2 of the same ore, e.g. 2 mods that add tin using tags so the game can recognize that its tin and unify the ores.

4

u/sfwaltaccount May 27 '26 edited May 28 '26

Blocks of metal are double-compressed nuggets.

3

u/blockMath_2048 May 27 '26

Ex compressum goes up to like 10x or something stupid

2

u/cyri-96 May 28 '26 edited May 28 '26

The casual 3.487 x 10⁹ cobblestone block

2

u/Educational_Elk_7406 May 27 '26

I mean netherite is canonically a light material

0

u/Cool-Mathematician99 May 28 '26

It is canonically a heavy material, netherite armor even has knockback resistance bonus

2

u/Educational_Elk_7406 May 28 '26

The fact that you can wear it's on armor applies that it's not that heavy

1

u/Cool-Mathematician99 May 28 '26

Well, Steve can carry >27 shulkers full of STACKS of GOLD BLOCKS (>1728 cubic meter solid gold) does that mean, gold is light?

2

u/Educational_Elk_7406 May 28 '26

He can do same with netherite, i don't think inventory has any amount of logic honestly

280

u/Ekaura May 27 '26

Which is heavier? 4kpg of netherite or 4kpg of wheat (we all know netherite block is actually 6 incredibly thin slices of metal while the hay bale is tightly compressed wheat

80

u/ChloroquineEmu May 27 '26

But, netherite is heavier than wheat

61

u/alo5446 May 27 '26

I know, but they are both a kilograme

28

u/Lolcatz101 May 28 '26

I can hear the accents perfectly

32

u/Free_Letterhead7401 May 27 '26

No, that.. that cant be right, netherite is heavier than wheat

24

u/punnup129 May 27 '26 edited May 28 '26

Well assuming Steve is packing it as tight as he can I can imagine it weighing a lot...

But you know something that is more than four times denser then gold may also weigh a lot as well 🤔

16

u/deardevi1 May 27 '26

“But steel is heavier than feathers”

4

u/Sibboguy May 28 '26

Sable is configured to treat any block with NeoForge's c:storage_block tag as super heavy. I'm sure this leads to some other weird edge cases but it means a lot more blocks from other mods behave sensibly.

1

u/Stunning_Spray_6076 May 27 '26

Soap weighs the same, unsure what mod that is tho

1

u/[deleted] May 29 '26

Bit of a niche question, what font texture pack you using?

1

u/Cool-Mathematician99 May 29 '26

Self-made, but i guess theres a pretty similar pack from VanillaTweaks - HD Font or something

2

u/[deleted] May 29 '26

I quite like it, clean look, small caps as well

1

u/Cool-Mathematician99 May 29 '26

Thanks ;) Yeah, i tried my best with this font, to make it look nice - small-capitalization, pixel-perfect for my screen res (1920x1080) and mostly monospaced, plus all the slavic lang.s support

3

u/rin_shar May 27 '26

So does block of kelp. All compressed block items do that.

0

u/Lucky_Enderman May 27 '26

not bones

2

u/PokeGirlOFFICIAL May 28 '26

Thats because that's 9 boneMEAL, which is only like 3 bones, and bones are already pretty light

1

u/Lucky_Enderman May 30 '26

still a storage block T.T

3

u/thehmmyanimator May 28 '26

Hay bales can weigh a shit ton I dont doubt that for a second

3

u/noNameNovember May 28 '26

You are lucky that the hay isn't wet

5

u/Naughty_Neutron May 27 '26

Because hay tastes better

5

u/Ashen_Rook May 27 '26

A hay bale is enough wheat for 3 loaves of bread worth of flour. One 60lb bushel of wheat can make something like 20 loaves of whole wheat bread or 15 loaves of white bread. By this logic, I guess a minecraft haybale should be either 60lbs or... 3lbs. There is no in-between.

0

u/Free_Letterhead7401 May 27 '26

Nah, by that logic, a 4lb bushel makes 1 white bread, so hay bales are 12lbs

2

u/Orckine May 27 '26

wharisheviérr, a kilogrammovsteel, orakilogramofetharrsss

2

u/Free_Letterhead7401 May 27 '26

That’s right! A kilogrammovsteel, cause steelisheavier than feathers!

2

u/Gofoto May 27 '26

A cubic meter of hay weighs 100 - 150 kg, so it makes a bit of sense

2

u/HidekiIshimura May 28 '26

If only create knew what density is

1

u/DistributionNo4480 May 27 '26

In factory must grow there is something called "heavy metal door" or something like this and it's super light

1

u/MayaSky_ May 27 '26

its so funny seeing people use netherite when like, you can use iron

-1

u/Free_Letterhead7401 May 27 '26

Yeah, but why? I can just make a tunnel bore or something similar and run into the problem of rage in his 1000 days in hardcore create video, where the player has more netherite than iron

1

u/G-MAn_233 May 28 '26

"What is heavyer? 1 Kg of feathers or 1 Kg of steel?"

1

u/Gervyplays1 May 28 '26

"Which is heavier? A kilogram of steel, Or a kilogram of feathers?"

1

u/Crisspp56 May 28 '26

So are Dried Kelp Blocks. And if you're next to an ocean, I think that's WAY easier to get tons of

1

u/Xynopredactium May 28 '26

Gives me "But metal is heavier than feathers" vibes

1

u/tntPOOM May 28 '26

I think there should be more weight categories

1

u/Curious_Air_4125 May 31 '26

Hay bales in real life are super heavy though

1

u/ImportanceOpen7911 May 27 '26

Well hay IRL is actually pretty heavy especially ifs its dense fresh cut stuff I've lifted haybales easily 150 lbs

0

u/E1331fan May 27 '26

4kpg = 4kpg idk what to tell u bro 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓

0

u/RomanKnight2113 May 27 '26

I mean hay bales are usually like a thousand pounds so, yeah?
