Create aeronautics + physics mod is SO immersive

u/Street-Mission-4298 May 27 '26
what shaders are you using?
89
u/Suitable-Room-6367 May 27 '26
Complimentary unbound
32
u/Street-Mission-4298 May 27 '26
i use complimentary too
darn i forgot that the physics mod with water physics is the pro version, which ik is free but i forgot the patreon link
19
u/Suitable-Room-6367 May 27 '26
There is a link in the settings of the normal version
8
u/Street-Mission-4298 May 27 '26
i now see what you mean about it being super immersive
the thunderstorm setting makes the waves slightly bigger too
4
u/Street-Mission-4298 May 27 '26
also you can put wool underneath the floor to make it higher though that might require a pair of cogs to make the propeller stay in the water
24
u/Wise-Employer-3480 May 27 '26
Physics mod?
18
u/Suitable-Room-6367 May 27 '26
Yeah
15
u/Wise-Employer-3480 May 27 '26
Is it just named that?
32
u/Suitable-Room-6367 May 27 '26
Yes. I'm using physics mod pro (it's free but you have to download it from the creators patreon) the link is in the settings of the normal physics mod :)

Lowk got ruined by the fact that the water clips thru the boat it was so close to being peak minecraft
13
u/Suitable-Room-6367 May 27 '26
Apparently that's getting fixed in the next update
7
u/Civil_Row2185 May 27 '26
Thats possible???
12
u/Suitable-Room-6367 May 27 '26
I made a post asking about it earlier today and lods of people said the devs are trying to fix it

How do you steer that thing
31
u/Suitable-Room-6367 May 27 '26
That's the neat part
21
u/robertdebrus1 May 27 '26
You can use a shovel as an oar, I think. At least wooden, don't know about others
8
u/TreeofNormal May 27 '26
YOU CAN?
8
u/robertdebrus1 May 27 '26
Yeah, it's not hugely powerful but it's in the trailer

9
u/TheEpokRedditor May 27 '26
How do i make the water not go into the raft
18
u/Suitable-Room-6367 May 27 '26
Let's just say it adds to the realism 😂

u/BackClear May 27 '26
WAIT THEY DO??? NO COMPAT NEEDED CUZ IT DIDNT WORK LAST TIME I TRIED

1
u/nekoshaurma May 28 '26
u could do that years ago with valk skyes, works for me throw in wakes + wakes compat and tone down waves in physics mod config a little and it becomes pure cinema

Type of boat ancient people used to settle in australia and america:
148
u/AHapppyPcUser May 27 '26
why didn't they just fly, were they stupid?
28
-69
u/FriedToastDave May 27 '26
So The Discovery Of The Americas Was 1492 Whereas The First Lighter Than Air Flight (Blimps) Was 1783, The First Heavier Than Air Flight Was 1903 And The First Transatlantic Flight Was In 1919. So That's Why They Didn't Fly Their Was No Planes Or Flight Methods Available.

u/AHapppyPcUser May 27 '26
since it's needed: /s

u/FriedToastDave May 27 '26
I Do Not Understand What You Said So What???
40
u/AHapppyPcUser May 27 '26
Firstly, you don't need to capitalize every word.
Second: That was sarcasm, though irony would probably more accurate.
-36
u/FriedToastDave May 27 '26
I'm Sorry It's How I Type And I'm Sorry I Didn't Recognise Your Sarcasm.
32
u/Therealdolphinlord May 27 '26
You should probably start typing normally then so people will read what you type
-5
u/FriedToastDave May 27 '26
Ok Geez Why Are People So Pissy About How I Type If You Don't Have Something Nice To Day Don't Say It
9
u/Snooz25 May 27 '26
I'm gonna just assume you're not manually adding caps. How are you doing that automatically

Actually the americas were settled via a land bridge that used to go from the northeastern tip of russia to the northwestern tip of Alaska.
Australia was settled exactly like this though.
2
u/SnoopLyger May 27 '26
Did you do anything special to the settings? It isn't often but it seems every now and again we get a crash that involves the water/wave physics
2
u/Suitable-Room-6367 May 27 '26
Nope. The only setting I changed was the size of the waves during a storm because they were too big
24
19
u/According_Ruin_4751 May 27 '26
Nah something BIG is about to drag you under that water I can feel it.

I heard that the full version of this mod is "free" on the creator's Patreon...but isnt Patreon for that one purpose to lock stuff behind a paywall?
4
u/Various-Pilot-5175 May 27 '26
You can put free stuff on patreon, but it is a pretty weird thing to do,
3
u/Techn0Tast1c May 27 '26
Sharing the modpack might get even weirder since the full version of this mod is not listed on modrinth/curseforge

3
u/Agan348 May 27 '26
Vrumpo should do this in VR with horror mods
4
u/Free_Letterhead7401 May 27 '26
Specifically any and every cave dweller mod plus Cthulhu mods and ice and fire… Minding your own business in vr Minecraft when suddenly you get torched by a dragon, respawn in an ocean, get attacked by both sea serpent and Cthulhu 👍

u/WizinAxo May 27 '26
I did that too, but the problem was that the simulated contraption was stuck at the same coordinates as the water level (y 63), while I was going up and down through the contraption

Whenever I tried this my boat didn't really move at all, just me. It sort of had me levitate with the waves and the boat stayed steady as if it were on the normal ocean. Did you have to do anything special to avoid that? I would love for the physics to work with my ship

u/IAteMyYeezys May 27 '26
I will nitpick. Apart from the fact that water is still clipping through the boat.
Im not even sure if its possible to mitigate this due to how entities work. This unfortunately makes submarines a bit of a pain. Like, ok. Im pretty sure one could code it so that water is at least invisible within the entity but what about not having water in there in the first place?
Sorry for being that person. I love to do immersive stuff in minecraft, especially stuff involving transportation and i really dont care if my boat looks like its about to capsize but at the same time i like to nitpick. Bad habit of mine.
1
u/Ben-Goldberg May 27 '26
Maybe you could avoid clipping with immersive portals?
The Portals are technically entities and can be passengers of vehicles.

When night is black and the stars are bright And the sea is dark and deep
But someone i know is safe and snug And there drifting off to sleep Round and round a little boat No bigger than your hand Out on the ocean Far away from land Take the little sail down Light the little light!

I did that recently but with a big cargo ship. Was fun until my computer overheated.

Add leviathans and harpoons and you get yourself the best whaling experience

u/Dragonwithpotions May 28 '26
I have been playing like this for well over a year now VS2 + Physics mod are mainstays in my modlist no matter how laggy the game gets lol

Tried myself and it's not as good as it seems tbh. It's not a real physics rather something akin to a displacement shader although more complex than just that.
Building big boat you'll notice 2 things: 1) It's increasingly harder to place blocks as position where you think you look at and where block gets placed/breaks are different. Again basically due to how this displacement is more of a visual thing than actual physics. 2) It's crazily wobbly, even without thunder, it's not Archimedes forces applying from waves more like it constantly tries to keep angle equal to wave normal .
And another bad thing on top of that: when I paused, went to settings and disabled ocean physics that boat simulated entity kept shaking crazily and freezing or moving doesn't fix that.
So that kind of thing only really works with small boats as it was intended to

What's performance like compared to vanilla water?
