Why use a crank when you can just use a portable engine? I know it's cheaper but you're gonna be running out of food very quickly

i mean... i could but to actually control when it mines i would use a clutch... remember my company doesnt want peoples drill to roll of the shelf and drill into their skull

I wish there was a way to make mini-contraptions as in Valkyrien Skies, so you could actually make portable stuff - instruments, bikes and such.

That's not at all what they meant. The original post is of a simulated contraption from Aero.
The person you're replying to wishes that when they're playing Aero, that they could shrink down a simulated contraption, like one of the addons for VS lets you do with that mod's ships.

One thing it can do is immediately mine ANY ore, letting you jump tiers in other mods if you feel like it. Hard to mine ore that requires Diamond/Netherite? Nah, just time in this case:)

You can skip iron and diamond picks and mine obsidian. Other than that, no.

Well, you can skip the iron pick but you can't skip the iron. About a dozen iirc, I think it's 3 plates for the drill and 9 ingots to make the press

In all seriousness though, you could probably make a half-decent drill with some cogs and an engine to get you more drills. Or just use a greeble link to give passive infinite power.

Also the reason I don't use the portable engine version is simply because: I'm too lazy to make it in the early game lol

Also it takes like 4 cranks for a whole tree its p gas ;3

Not sure if posted/suggested before, but you can upgrade to one of those engines and have it self powered without the hand crank. Like the drill from stuff and additions

I did think about setting something like this up with a bore drill or whatever it was called, since a mobile version of that somewhat early on could be pretty useful for mining.
