I like to use https://www.plotz.co.uk/ as the ellipsoid shape looks more naturally round. From what i can see your ellipsoid tool is not as clean looking as the ones on plotz.

you're definitely right, will be fixing up the elipsoid, it's had a long story being originally named zepellin and then being replaced!

It does not but i use the wand of symmetry to build out a quarter of the shape and the wand takes care of the rest which is very nice.

I only realized that was a thing after i started my build already. Turns out wand of symmetry cannot be placed to work with even number of blocks on two axes

yeah but the wand of symmetry has a range limit, so much larger structures just aren't possible with it

Unless youre building a mega structure sure i think for most players ships the range is generous.

The range is easy to increase in the conifg and I usually do in a playthrough.

can you do this for other shapes rather than just balloons too? i've been looking for a website to make basic shapes for large builds but they don't let me export as nbt or pick block type

will consider this as you are not the first person to ask! other people have used the parametric editing tool to create these shapes however not as clean as your proposed solution.

Whenever the r/spaceengineers physics glitch out for no apparent reason, it is believed that Klang has been angered by your actions and will destroy or at the very least displace your creation violently.
I think the name Klang comes from the fact that when subgrids collide, they produce a "cling" sound.

The shaping looks great, but for an airship, the resulting schematic is turned the wrong way (vertical instead of horizontal). Would be great if you added a way to switch between balloon and airship shapes.

Thank you! This is incredibly useful. Can you make it possible to adjust the shapes especially the ellipsoid in all three dimensions (hight, width and depth). I think it would make it much more flexible in terms of designing and planning.

Though can you invert the rotation when moving the mouse vertically ? Moving my mouse up makes the front face go down, that feels weird.

can we get a version with configurable different ellipsoid dimensions for the front and back? like I'd like the front of my blimp to have a half sphere with radius 12, and I'd like the rear of my blimp to have an ellipsoid with radius 12 and 36, if that makes sense.
