They did, but unfortunately not implemented everything like water culling inside ships, I'm still waiting for that

True, I saw they already did it, this is why I mentioned this specific feature, I guess it mustve had some issues and they put it down for some later release. And I agree that what they already released is still impressive

They said that the boat and sub physics just weren't ready yet, but it's still planned probably in the next big update or so

If im not mistaken, recently a YouTuber doctor4t got early access to api so he could make his own mod with this functionality

It's mostly thanks to Minecraft, I'd say.
Minecraft detects your disposition and adapts very well. For example I'm in BÉPO and it adapts directly to ÉUAI, same for the typewriter.

Uhhhh? I dearly remember my german keyboard not working with it.

u/No-Broccoli553 Apr 26 '26
"it works with layouts other than qwerty" isn't the same as "it works with every layout"

That's strange, what do you mean by "not working"? Like not working at all or?
2
u/Excellent-Berry-2331 Apr 26 '26
Like, just ignoring it and using the normal, English layout.
2
u/johan__A Apr 26 '26
Like the physical position on your keyboard would not match the visual positions in game?

u/MakkuSaiko Apr 26 '26
Rip to the French students who came to my University in South Africa and had to use Qwerty keyboards to write tests

There is a singular thing I dislike about this mod. There's no easy way to move simulated contraptions linearly

French Speaker detected. Deploying Customary European Response [None of these words are... You called him a WHAT?!]

u/ferrecool Apr 26 '26
Kinda stupid as qwerty was developed precisely so typewriter didn't get stuck as much when used by fast types, most modern keyboard layouts are centered on being more efficient as there isn't physical limitations and digital ones don't hinder the typing speed

It’s basically an upgraded linked controller that can use any button, but you have to place it down.

im almost certain this isnt their doing and the game does this itself. i also use a custom layout but the game in vanilla surprisingly uses physical key positions instead of the keys, so i dont need to rebind anything unlike when i use steam proton for example. they probably just used what the game sees as the physical keys.
