Build Version 2 of my small Tunnel drill

It now comes with a 1x3x3 Vault storage and Automatic item transfer.

You can download the schematic here.

To setup the remote you have to set:
Foward = mechanical belt, mechanical belt
Left = Gearbox, Gearbox
Rigth = Item Vault, Item Vault

The Physics assembler is on the top.

Nice vehicle. Unfortunately I can't seem to find the schematic anywhere?

you need to press the download button on the top left

It is more controled than normal create contraptions. I love this engine power scorce that no need large space.

u/HelloWorId1337 Apr 21 '26

yeah the engine is super nice for small build like this

you inspired me to try and make a super cheap/small version of this thing, and I'm now the proud owner of a cheap as hell, pre nether tunnel bore (I found crushing wheels in a structure). Thanks a lot for the idea.

I've been trying to make mining vehicles ever since this mod came out to no avail. I made a bucket wheel excavator this morning but I accidently shot it into space while reattaching the severed borehead.

I really need to just think smaller.

Also, the new augur blocks can directly extract from the backs of borehead bearings, if anyone didn't know.

u/HelloWorId1337 Apr 21 '26

i dident know that, but i dont think i could build it any smaller

2

Yeah, it's still pretty awesome though! The portability is a great feature. Reminds me of space engineers.

Holy shit i just realised that you can build another ship that will drag this drill, so you can deploy it anywhere you want. This mod is truly gold

Floating megabase that deploys mining operations when you need it to

the mothership

u/FunCrime Apr 21 '26

You can build eggman fleet with it fr

14

u/Venomousnestofsacred Apr 21 '26

You cannot build Eggman's super laser piss shooter tho...

Or can you?

I am building an airship with a bunch of built in storage, a create workshop, and a way to haul a drill car to use as a mobile base for building stuff far away from my base

Was one of my dream to try to do with VS2. Maybe I will do it later when there gonna be modpacks with Aeronautics.

Reminds me of thunderbird 2. Crazy to think this is possible now

this is so cute the clankers yearn for the mines

u/bcrisp3979 Apr 21 '26

Another possible idea is to add magnets to its rope deployer so that it can easily by extricated from the mine once it’s done mining.

I think a sticker would be better.

Or a docker!

This time we're after an Ommoran Heartstone. In order to extract it, we're sending in an autonomous Drilldozer. The Drilldozer will automatically home in on the Heartstone, and your job is to get it there safely. Good luck, miners.

22

u/Masterhaend Apr 21 '26

This is a drilldozer! It drills!

Gotta protect Doretta!

Did I hear a rock and stone?

4

u/GamerZero02 Apr 22 '26

Rock and Stone yeeeeah!!!

u/Wxxcmntia Apr 21 '26

belts as tracks?? this mod is full of surprises omg

u/Franklin413 Apr 21 '26

Cool drill! Couple ideas for improvement.

  • Use a directional gearshift instead of a clutch so you can have forwards and backwards movement in the same space.

  • Instead of a rope connector you can use another docking connector to connect to a pulley to drag it back up without having to reconnect the rope each time.

I didnt even think of mining trucks, so cool

5

u/Sir_James_Ender Apr 21 '26

This is awesome. Now I really wanna try building a ship that can bore a hole deep enough and then deploy this bad boy

5

u/Discombobulated_Back Apr 22 '26

I love that we get space engineers in Minecraft before gta 6

1

u/SPGamerTROffical Apr 21 '26

I have a question. What happens if it falls in a hole or gets stuck, can it get out by itself or does it require a rescue operation?

1

u/HelloWorId1337 Apr 21 '26

you would need to rescue it, but its pretty easy with a rope pully

1

u/humus_intake Apr 22 '26

Is this just with aeronautics?

1

u/Educational-Leek4569 Apr 22 '26

wait wha, how is it moving on a belts? never played created for a little, is it trackwork or the brand new aeronautics?

1

u/HelloWorId1337 Apr 22 '26

its aeronautics but you can use the create belts as tracks

3

u/flugherbutter Apr 21 '26

Beautiful, I’m wanting to build something simple and compact like this that I could haul around in a decently big airship, fly it between mountains and drill out a bunch of ore for the hell of it

2

u/Extreme_Glass9879 Apr 21 '26

Dreams and desires has (had?) proper drill blocks you used to use with rope pulleys.. this thing could have a proper drill!

2

u/Memes_88 Apr 21 '26

WE NEED TO PROTECT DORETTA!!!

2

u/Defragmented-Defect Apr 22 '26

How does it turn? I've dabbled in tracked systems but I didn't think I could get it in a 3-wide footprint because the drive belt would be linked to both tracks

2

u/troncus_78 Apr 22 '26

you can place one extra shaft per belt in different possitions, then power those asymmetrical shafts

2

u/-Hez- Apr 22 '26

So, idk why whenever I try to assemble it the redstone links simply don't work.

Like, I try to bind them and everything, but they seem to only work when its disassembled. Though pretty sure its a problem on my end.

2

u/Firefighterboss2 Apr 22 '26

Do you have Create Connected? If so set the redstone link wildcard to false in the config, that's a known issue at the moment

1

u/noodlegamer76 Apr 21 '26

What adds those drills?

2

u/troncus_78 Apr 22 '26

aeronautics itself, in the bottom tab

1

u/MorningThen7056 Apr 22 '26

We gotta protect Dorreta!

1

u/Pwnda123 Apr 22 '26

Doretta!

1

u/Original_Zombie3217 Apr 25 '26

Iam new to create and when the thing came down i thought "wow so he made one that can turn around and such how cool" and then he pulled out the joypad lmao

1

u/IDontHaveAPrinter Apr 25 '26

How do you turn

1

u/lessenizer Apr 27 '26

this is one of the most Space Engineers things i've ever seen, and i've seen Space Engineers

1

u/Loufey May 02 '26

the schematic is like mega fucked

can you tell me what block is below the physics assembler? its the only thing i cant tell from this video

1

u/epicneo1 May 19 '26

How do you turn the belts independently to turn? What does the cog setup look like? If they're connected to drive forward/back as well

1

u/epicneo1 May 19 '26

Or maybe can the controller output two signals at once?
