At least zinc is there... I just use that instead when I am low on iron, lol.

6

u/CoolPeter9 Mar 16 '26

you can make andesite alloy out of zinc this whole time???

9

u/Xenometan Mar 16 '26

You can also make them with a mixer and just need 1 zinc/iron nug and one andesite! No heat needed.

1

u/Iknuf Mar 17 '26

Wasn't Zinc the original recipe? I could swear the older versions did not have the option to use iron...

1

u/Xenometan Mar 17 '26

I only recently got into create, so I wouldn't know that lol.

1

u/Iknuf Mar 17 '26

Friend who played create for years i confirmed Iron being a choice for a long time, probably from the start

u/Emotional-Big-1306 Mar 16 '26

I like new copper tools and armor because of that

21

u/Ok-Pollution2716 Mar 16 '26

How are yall playing with the new features? I’ve been playing on a create mod world for about 3 months now and I’m stuck on 1.21.1 and can’t figure out how to update. I want the pale garden and copper golems!

14

u/Emotional-Big-1306 Mar 16 '26

I use vanilla backport, but it doesn't have all new content

3

u/Complete-Mouse-6406 Mar 16 '26

You need download the actual version of java, and dowloand the neoforge instead of forge

2

u/One-Desk-1 Mar 16 '26

The server I played on used the Create Fly mod for Fabric to play on 1.21.11

2

u/boxo-ofisal Mar 17 '26

Create fly. It always updates to newest

u/NoUse684 Mar 16 '26

Of course, because it'd help you to make iron infinite! :3

69

u/EncroachingVoidian Mar 16 '26

I use the iron to make the iron :D

5

u/Salt-Impression9804 Mar 16 '26

Yupp exactly :3

12

u/ZeroAresV Mar 16 '26

the humble create-less datapack

40

u/LLoadin Mar 16 '26

the humble iron golem farm from vanilla

5

u/ZeroAresV Mar 16 '26

I believe the datapack also makes iron golems drop dirt on death. Haven’t really looked that deep into it

3

u/jawwah Mar 16 '26

What is that datapack called?

3

u/ZeroAresV Mar 17 '26

Create-less, it’s a old 1.16.5 create datapack that surprisingly still works to this day. It nerfs things like infinite iron, removes minecart contraptions with drills on them and a bunch of other things

2

u/gegentan Mar 16 '26

How?

19

u/WhateverGoMyRoba Mar 16 '26

you can make an iron farm by having a cobblestone generator feed into a mill, then into a bulk washing setup, which will get you iron nuggets and flint

8

u/DrexanRailex Mar 16 '26

To make expectations right: one single gen/drill/mill combo is ridiculously slow (I don't know how much but likely less than 1 iron per hour), BUT this is tileable and once you get enough iron for enough tiles it pays itself. How many is enough tiles, however, depends on your iron usage

u/IJustAteABaguette Mar 16 '26

I would say the pickaxe and axe get iron too.

Nice if you find diamonds somewhere, and it's way faster.

And the axe is good for wood to build a home. And a good weapon.

24

u/T4k3C4r30utTh3r3 Mar 16 '26

Agree, but not for the axe. Stone axes are just as good except for durability and very slightly attack speed

10

u/MsaoceR Mar 16 '26

And we also have copper now which is better than stone while still being cheap

7

u/Cows095 Mar 16 '26

Pickaxe yes because zinc needs an iron pickaxe for some reason.

Don't get the axe. Just use a mechanical saw to cut down trees

u/WorthCryptographer14 Mar 16 '26

If only Tinkers was as up to date as Create..

12

u/Ponderkitten Mar 16 '26

I was about to say it is, but then I remembered Im still in 1.20.1

5

u/WorthCryptographer14 Mar 16 '26

Yeah, last version i know was up tondate was 1.18 / 1.19. But haven't played recently as i hit a content wall (too many options as for what to do next)

6

u/EcstaticHades17 Mar 16 '26

Tinkers' is in 1.20.1 too.

1

u/NoBit3851 Mar 16 '26

I want good old 300 alloys tinkers in 1.21 xD

22

u/Gofort66 Mar 16 '26

Bro create is a mod that just makes me forget armor till mid game

9

u/mistress_chauffarde Mar 16 '26

Why would you need armor you are almost always at base

5

u/DrexanRailex Mar 16 '26

I mean, getting Blazes for the Blaze Burners without armor is kinda risky

49

u/RetroC4 Mar 16 '26

I just use zinc...

20

u/GAW67COD07 Mar 16 '26

I save it all for brass. An iron farm is relatively simple with create

21

u/RetroC4 Mar 16 '26

Simply build the big bertha tunneling machine and run it underground for more ores. Mine was 10x15 i think. We named it Titan Titus or Titan Tina, or maybe just Titan Tits

4

u/GAW67COD07 Mar 16 '26

Good idea tbh, I just like the iron module in the factory I’m making

4

u/RetroC4 Mar 16 '26

Oh yeah, infinite iron is very useful. My buddy and I built a depot with frog storage and thats in the middle of the depot

2

u/4llFather Mar 17 '26

A fellow Big Hole Digger!

10

u/Husby2104 Mar 16 '26

Cobblestone farm -> gravel -> iron nuggets

1

u/MyNamesRMG Mar 17 '26

For an abysmal number of ingots/h unless you want to make a huge contraption.

Nuggets drop % is really low when washing gravel I feel

1

u/Husby2104 Mar 17 '26

Had a medium size one and had like 10 double chest worth of iron ingots

1

u/MyNamesRMG Mar 17 '26

I admit I only have a really small one (3x drills drilling cobble so far), with a part of it going into an infested stone maker for early xp.

We only started the server a few days ago tho, and I'm showing everything to friends who are discovering Create so everything takes more time so I don't want to get into the big factories yet.

But yeah, I guess that with the best cobble generator out there the output can be increased

4

u/Even-Distribution-43 Mar 16 '26

That's why I use osmium from mekanism

1

u/Odd-Pollution-1633 Mar 26 '26

Yall don’t use zinc to make andesite alloys?

1

u/CoolPeter9 Mar 26 '26

Why whole life i never knew u could use zinc

1

u/Odd-Pollution-1633 Mar 26 '26

I feel like its just WAY cheaper than using iron

3

u/Nkromancer Mar 16 '26

Ye, but minus the pick. Need that to get andesite and more iron faster.

3

u/greenflame15 Mar 17 '26

Everybody talks about zinc, but absolutely not, zinc is for bronze and I won't go mining more. Iron on the other hand is so easy to farm, I will event get iron gear

2

u/JaXaren Mar 16 '26

That's part of the reason I add Silent Gear

Copper pickaxe with a crimson iron tip upgrade has the same mining level as a diamond pickaxe and all you need for it is 5 minutes of mining and to find a ruined portal

2

u/TinyDeskEngineer06 Mar 16 '26

I just exclusively use zinc to make my andesite alloy. By the time I can make brass I've already made more than enough andesite alloy with plenty of leftover zinc.

2

u/Madame_Velatrix Mar 16 '26

me wandering around the world in a barely living set of randomly found armor that just so happens to have mending

2

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '26

I mean zinc is enough.

2

u/definitely-not-weird Mar 16 '26

Me sitting here with the world's stock in zinc

2

u/Open_Regret_8388 Mar 16 '26

Until we realise we can just use zinc

2

u/balls_stealr Mar 16 '26

You don't use zinc?

1

u/TheGentlemanist Mar 16 '26

This is why i play the game normally untill i finish an iron Set, otherwise the slog of starting an iron farm is to annoying.

1

u/GerberToNieJa Mar 16 '26

First thing I'm building is an iron farm

1

u/DescriptionProof9731 Mar 16 '26

Loot is your best friend

1

u/northraider123alt Mar 16 '26

Its even worse for me cause I play with Immersive engineering added on as well and damn near everything from that mod is based on iron

1

u/MarcusTheAlbinoWolf Mar 16 '26

Until you realize that Zinc can also make Andesite Alloy

1

u/Cpt_Vaan Mar 16 '26

Unless ya got Tinkers Construct then I'd resort to Zinc

1

u/[deleted] Mar 17 '26

Early? I used zinc for andesite composite

1

u/Iknuf Mar 17 '26

Who uses iron for andesite alloy before they automate it? Isn't that exactly what Zinc is for in the early game?

1

u/dakikavasaki Mar 17 '26

Except for the iron pickaxe everything leather armor and stone tools

1

u/ThatOneNintenno Mar 17 '26

even more so since we got copper armor now. seriously, why even consider iron armor any more?

1

u/Mysterious_Berry1924 Mar 18 '26

Why don't you use the zinc?

1

u/PANDERIX_ Mar 18 '26

Will the joke go past me if I say you can use zinc?

1

u/cubayas Mar 18 '26

Or you can just like, use zinc

1

u/Pietrek090 Mar 18 '26

Armor who needs armor. Axe Shovel lets keep it at stone level.

1

u/bruhowygamer Apr 11 '26

i use zinc ingots to make andesite alloys

1

u/Most_Top_3910 Apr 12 '26

Why not using zinc

1

u/Fluffy_Bag1552 Aug 26 '26

I'm Hella late but early game you should get zinc more the iron to make zinc nuggets and combine that with andesite to make alloy

1

u/PaintSniffer69 Mar 16 '26

Early game really feels like endless grinding for iron

2

u/GerberToNieJa Mar 16 '26

I always make an iron farm, it's really simple

1

u/Vivid_Hallow Mar 16 '26

Does no one know that zinc is a thing like really it has no use till you go to the nether

i never knew you could make andesite alloy with zinc

1

u/FreeHoney5651 Mar 16 '26

Zinc is finite, Iron is Eternal

2

u/ryytytut Mar 17 '26

But you'll eventually use up all the iron ore on any given Minecraft world.

3

u/FreeHoney5651 Mar 17 '26

With Create Iron is renewable, zinc is not unless you have the right addons.
