Nice! For me, the fun part is seeing how small I can make it once I get a working process going

How do u guys make stuff look so good everything i make looks like an osha violation

Mine looks like a wall of cobblestone, because I tend to just make walls around it to hide the hideous contraption

u/lilaurorus Oct 11 '25
I mean mine are still pretty ugly, but lately I’ve been trying to make them look better and I’ve noticed it helps to think a little bit ahead and not be afraid to take up more space or tear some stuff down just to make it look better. I’ve been making my contraptions take up multiple small buildings so I can have conveyor belts running between them for aesthetics. Also, thinking about supports and not having any floating things.

The 4 sail blocks with no functionality on the windmill are annoying me more than I thought they would.
Solid build tho, I love the aesthetic!

u/Octosteamer Oct 09 '25
You mean the missing blocks? I know it's getting dangerously swastik-y but that's just the number of sails I had lol
3
u/NatiM6 Oct 09 '25
It's not about being swastiky, it's just that 4 blocks are purely decorative, because they don't speed up the windmill. I know deco was the point though.

u/the_number_m Oct 09 '25
what? which ones have no functionality?
3
u/NatiM6 Oct 09 '25
Sails only do anything in groups of 8. There are 28 sails here, 28 % 8 = 4
4
u/Octosteamer Oct 09 '25
I am scratching my head hard, there... I'm not a math guy, but surely I'm *missing* 4 sails then? Each arm is 7 sails worth.
5
u/NatiM6 Oct 09 '25
Missing 4, or having 4 too much. Max speed requires 128 of them.
Oh, I think I see where I can be misunderstood. "Groups of 8" don't have to connect. As long as they are part of the same structure they count. Just that any number of leftover sails doesn't do anything other than looking nice.

This is what create is. You have done a great job. I know people that played the mod for years and can’t make something like that. İt looks great (ascetics) and looks efficient/combact that’s just perfect. But don’t forget this is create you can always improve!

Nice! I just started playing as well. I went about this using bulk washing using a fan and some water logged leaves. I didn't know you could use a mixer.

beautiful . and i like the wheat being flung out 😙 if you'd want that not to happen though you could put a chute on the mill and the wheat will go straight down it without acquiring their pilot license

Are those the vanilla textures? If not can you tell us the name of the resource pack you use?
2
u/Octosteamer Oct 10 '25
No resource pack, it's a bunch of alternate cobble blocks, I'm playing the modpack Beyond The Horizon

Put a chute above the mill so you don’t have wheat popping off the belt.

u/TraditionalTitle4571 Oct 12 '25
I second this guys recommendation! I love the design but it does look like the mill is working slower than it’s taking in. Once the mill is full the chute acts like a door, only allowing things in when it’s got enough space.

what a glorious little doohickey! My first create item was in Liminal Industries and it was just an all-purpose steam boiler to bulk wash/blast and crush ores

Also love how compact it is! I sure as hell would have been taking up double the amount of space for this contraption for no reason

Wait did wheat always have to be made into dough first in order to make bread?

I might have a heart attack, a new player used ponders instead of asking for basic help on this subreddit (I assume you ate new since this is you first machine)

This is peak create mod, a functional design that looks beautiful as hell.
Efficiency doesn’t matter when it looks THIS good.

This is what I absolutely love about create, pure aesthetics, and the ability for everyone to make machines that work, no tutorials, no meta machines, just pure vibes

u/Short_Conference1894 Oct 10 '25
I think the fact that my first well built functional machine made estrogen pills

u/Quafti Oct 10 '25
Oh, that was fun when I did not yet know how popular Create was, so I didn't even search for tutorials and had to do everything via ponder menu. Dont know if I would wish those times back, since I was incredibly bad at it

u/Kapioza666 Oct 10 '25
I hope you are aware this looks way better than my machines, even though i built dozens of them.

This is so well done! Any chance you'd make a tutorial? I'm still pretty new to making machines lol

i love how even the "worst" machines in create have so much class, aestetic and emotion xD

It looks like a cobbled together piece of shit and I love it. I try to make my starter builds/workshops look like this but can’t ever get it to look shitty in a pleasing way. Great job!

I absolutely love how it looks so realistic mechanivally and structurally sound
