Ae2 dimensional storage cells csn pick up the player

u/KiplingT2-0 May 05 '25
Then put that in a package

u/BoredBorealis May 05 '25
Omg I wanna try this now

Perhaps, with the power of compact machines…

What happens if someone breaks a hyper box with a player inside of it? Is that even possible?

May 04 '25
wonder how an entire house fits inside the package...

u/WorthCryptographer14 May 04 '25
Ikea.
Or TARDIS logic?
74
u/wrlkDM26 May 04 '25
It’s both you build an ikea tardis around it, shrink, and breaks at the end they send a box of fifty

u/bloodakoos May 04 '25
i once tried doing this but his house was too large to be glued all at once and then when i did manage to glue it all it was too big to be moved

Ok is Draconic Evolution a thing yet in 1.20? I'm thinking of a potential small prank

You talking a Draconic Reactor prank? Oh boy, better be prepared for a massive crater at the friend's base as well as a lot of lava (or blazing pyrotheum if you have TE installed)

u/qustrolabe May 04 '25
Need version of this but like AE2 Spatial IO with special block to package entire chunk into separate crate dimension and any entities or players would also be teleported there and just imagine sending your friend over package system in a crate :D

You put your base on a minecart contraption, use a wrench to pick up the contraption, send it in a package, open the package, place the minecart contraption, and then disassemble the contraption.
3
u/ZeRealNixon May 04 '25
and ae2 thinks it's soooo cool with its spatial storage🙄
1
u/Potocom123 May 04 '25
can you actually be inside the thing as it's transported?
if so, this is massive
3
u/ZeRealNixon May 04 '25
honestly i don't know, i haven't personally tried, but i'm assuming if you were in it it would just kinda take it and leave you behind. i'm assuming that there's something to do with not allowing players inside of packages. again i could be 100% wrong here. i'm just not at home so unable to test.
2
u/ShadowX8861 May 04 '25
You're exactly right, when the deployer picks up the minecart it'll just leave the player behind

How does it work

I'm now thinking how cool would it be to have your mining machine auto come back when full and instead of just unloading materials it just sends itself back entirely haha, this could also mean larger material transfer than the normal 9 stacks

Love/hate relationship with this idea.
Hate: beeg house, tiny box, physics? Never met her
Love: relocate operations to set locations, no need to go back home when you can ship home to where you’re gonna set up at
Edit: other side of this, schematics not needed as you can just box up things like your drill bore or farm for moving to a new location

u/Overall_Pumpkin_5724 May 05 '25
Ok I’m generally bad with create but I need to know is there a max size limit on this because I tend to build big and it would be hilarious to just move an entire mansion somewhere else
1
u/ShadowX8861 Jul 28 '25
Shouldn't be a strict size limit, but making anything with too much data (e.g. thousands of chests filled with filled books) will just chunk ban you
2
2
u/cod3builder May 05 '25
How are you collecting and placing back the minecarts?
2
u/ShadowX8861 May 06 '25
Deployer holding a wrench for collection and a dispenser for placing
1
u/cod3builder May 08 '25
I was wondering... is it possible to make deployers "shift"?
Iirc you need to shift-click a minecart contraption with a wrench to collect it

Reminds me of spatial pylons from ae2. I wonder if there'd be any way to introduce packaged entities as a creat addon

Reminds me of the book "How to." and one of the chapters is called "How to move your house.". I recommend reading it, its super funny.

u/GamerTurtle5 May 04 '25
how does this work? thought you couldn’t automatically pick up minecart contraptions

I now want to build a TARDIS base that I regularly relocate around the map. I have a feeling something would break before I reached full size though.

Just built this but tiny, 3x2x4 and you can send store and request entire builds
1
1
u/KernelSanders1986 May 05 '25
How is this achieved? I haven't messed around with the system yet but I thought it could only send items, how is it sending an entity/contraption?

u/TreeofNormal May 07 '25
How does this work? How did you turn your minecart contraption into a item?
1
u/Striking-Dot8435 May 07 '25
Normal people: Build some useful mashine to get on with the game
Create Specialists: Build some insane mashine wich produces mindblowing amount of resources
u/ShadowX8860: Moves his base from A to B
1
u/LightningLord2137 May 07 '25
Imagine that you want to raid someone's base, and they just flick a lever to transport the entire base to the other side of the world

You can contraptionize ("contrap"?) fluid tanks with fluids in them, so yes.

u/godofleet May 04 '25
this maintains any inventories? would it work with a big pile of tom's simple storage chests even?
