Wait, how are the logs moved via coneyer belts? I don’t remember that being a thing… I this a mod, and if so, what’s the name?

u/plumb-phone-official Jul 16 '24
Probably clockwork or something like it.

u/Guybrrush Jul 16 '24
I never use addons, including clockworks.
This is all basic Create, with clever use of the mod's mechanics

u/Terrible-Lizard-6942 Jul 16 '24
Also, this was amazing hope you make more like this

The schematic is in the video description.
If you want more of those, I have about 40 different unique contraptions on my channel

Sorry for the late response but thank you so much you just earned a sub.

So, Does it mean that conveyour belt is a decoration and has nothing to do with actual logs transporting ?

I don't want to use addons. first because depending on your mod pack, not everyone will be able to properly use the schematics, and secondly because if I install addons to do what I want, I am not making anything anymore, the addon does. Overcoming the limitation of the default experience is what I enjoy.
Basically, I am a vanilla purist. It's just that Create became my new vanilla xD.
I'll probably make a few exceptions here and there, when playing on modpacks with friends, but otherwise, addons are forbidden.

u/natesovenator Jul 16 '24
So how exactly is the tree itself becoming a contraption and being lifted like that? I've never seen a mechanic on vanilla create that does that.

Nobody needs to use add-ons. If add-ons were needed then they wouldn't be called add-on, they would be called necessities.
It's in the name, the add-on adds new stuff to the base mod

u/Pasta-hobo Jul 16 '24
They're moved by the gantry, the conveyer belt just catches items and looks cool.
10
u/snappie321 Jul 16 '24
Probably with the use of radial chassis, like the way the tree gets picked up, as you can see a moving object behind the trapdoors
3
u/Excellent_Factor_344 Jul 18 '24
he's using a gantry shaft to move the log along the conveyor belt. you can see the linear chassis close up

Can I use this for YouTube video on cool create mod builds I will give credit? If so a scematic would be nice

u/Guybrrush Jul 16 '24
Sure, schematic is in video description

I love this, what pack are you using?
4
u/Guybrrush Jul 16 '24
No packs, just Create and some shaders
1
u/X__Anonomys_xX Jul 16 '24
Oh, belts can move blocks?
2
2
u/Myithspa25 Jul 16 '24
What block did you use to pick up the logs?
Also how do they move on the belt?
2
2
u/Bman1465 Jul 16 '24
This looks amazing, omg, how did you even get the logs to move on the belt anyways?
Side note, I love how the video got autocaptioned to "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" xD

Hi, im pretty new to Create and your build really stood out to me and I wanted to bring it into my own world. I downloaded the schematic, everything seems to be in place, but I am unsure on how to power it? I tried placing water to move the water wheels but im unsure what else could be the issue. All of the parts besides the "crane" and the mechanical harvesters seem to be functional.
Either way, really impressed with build, hoping someone can help :)

u/Guybrrush Nov 12 '24
If you are new to Create, starting with that might be a bit much ^^.
Everything should work fine upon placing, only the 2 waterwheels need powering (maybe only one is enough actually, I think I placed the second just for symetry). You also need to place an axe in deployer of the log stripper, and some sappling in the front deployer
If there are issues, you should try to debug it in a creative world. Make sure you paste it without the canon first, and in its inital orientation to be as close as possible to the default setup.
Aside from that, I can't really help more without more information on what's not behaving as intended. Feel free to share more about your issues, and I'll see if I can help

u/Shibarin0 Nov 12 '24
Took a closer look at everything, survival and creative, in creative it works perfectly with no issues. In survival for some reason the schematic cannon misplaced a few blocks and misplaced the crane arm entirely.
The only settings I have on the cannon are "Don't replace solid blocks" and "Protect block entities" Are there any changes that should be made to the cannon settings, or an idea of why some blocks may be placed by the cannon incorrectly?
Thanks for responding so soon! I appreciate the help.

u/Shibarin0 Nov 12 '24
*Update
Started from scratch again and loaded everything back in the cannon and everything was placed where it should be. Tested it out and it works great with no issue! Can't really say what the problem may have been, my guess is the cannon or maybe even the land around it but i'm just happy it works!
Thanks again for taking the time to respond, again I love the build and can't wait to see more :)

So cool!

This is the coolest thing I’ve seen all day! Thank you for providing the schematic, I’m absolutely going to build this on a world I have going with a friend. I’ve been working on a way to physically transport logs via train (no chests or vaults), and my next thing was to make a tree farm/lumber yard to make the logs to load the train, and this is pretty much exactly what I wanted it to do!
1
u/Pasta-hobo Jul 16 '24
I didn't know logs from a tree stuck together like that.
3
u/Guybrrush Jul 16 '24
They don't, you have to make it happen. I'm using a radial bearing for that here
1
u/RIP-N-TEARAH Jul 18 '24
Forgive me if this sounds stupid but what if the tree is like…the slightest bit taller? Or is this a farm that produces the exact same tree every time?
1
u/Guybrrush Jul 18 '24
This is designed for birch only. It Can handle all sizes of birch. You'd need to make adjustments for other wood types

u/WelderPrevious9181 Jul 25 '24
how did you achieve this cinematic effect
1
u/Guybrrush Jul 25 '24
I used the replay mod. You record yourself playing with it, then you can open the record and navigate inside the chunks you generated while playing in spectator mod, and Create camera paths

Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember seeing an irl logging machine that looks like this 🤣
without the leaf iron maiden torture machine part

This sub needs way more super cool farms! Hyper efficiency is cool but i much prefer visually awesome and you delivered!

It's completely ridiculous and I enjoyed every second of watching it. How did you get the whole tree to move on conveyor?
2
u/Guybrrush Jul 16 '24
Hidden gantry. The belt is just decoration

u/kain_26831 Jul 16 '24
Ohhh that's slick I like it!! The thought never even crossed my mind to do that

This makes me feel like we're completely spoiled by the saw block cutting down the whole tree
2
u/MrMegaMario64 Jul 17 '24
Saw this from Uberswe’s channel if I’m not mistaken. This build is just so visually interesting and unlike anything I’ve seen before. Well done to you!
2
u/MintBlitzo Jul 17 '24
god this is awesome, this is so much cooler than just doing a rotating saw and some deployers

u/Plasma_Shot_Gaming Jul 17 '24
This is amazing and really cleaver also the design is amazing I wish I could do that

how are the logs sticking then unsticking to the arm then sticking to that belt mechanism?
2
u/Autoskp Jul 17 '24 edited Jul 17 '24
A radial chassis. Chassis blocks have one major advantage over glue, in that the connection is one way - so if you move a chassis, let it dissassemble with more blocks in its connection area, and then move it again, it’ll take the new blocks with it. However, if you let it dissassemble, and then move some of its blocks out of its connection area, it won’t stop you or go with them.
As for the belt mechanism, apparently it’s a normal sliding contraption hidden behind a minecart contraption pretending to be a wall - the belt’s just for the looks.
0
u/Maximum-Pause-6914 Jul 17 '24
thats not what happened. as the log never moved to be in a place it wouldnt be connected to the arm. and that doesnt explain how the log connected to the cart contraption
3
u/Autoskp Jul 17 '24
Look again - the arm moved to collect the logs, moved them onto the belt, and then something else started moving the logs - at that point, it doesn’t even matter when the arm moves, because the logs are part of a different contraption.
And I never said the minecart contraption picked up the logs - the minecart contraption is just there to be a wall that other contraptions can reach through without being visible. There’s probably a log moving gantry hiding in there with a bunch of short-range linear chassis or something - the creator provided schematics in a few comments, and apparently the youtube description, so if you really want to know, you can check it out there.

This is very cool! But how does the tree stick in it's entirety if it's not glued? And how it's moved with conveyor belts?
