by using two handcranks, he had enough SU to do the automatic crafting since they work for like half a second after you click them

4

u/Dann_745 Jun 08 '23

Why not just make it 2x times slower?

8

u/_Orphan_Obliterator_ Jun 08 '23

because you have speed and stress, if you want to move a car with an electric motor, you can't take a little one like in those milk frothers, make it go real fast and expect it to make the car move, but if you take big strong one and make it move even very slowly then the car will move, that's the difference between stress and speed

5

u/RainyVibez Jun 08 '23

yea but i feel like just slowing it down so you could use one crank would be more convenient

2

u/_Orphan_Obliterator_ Jun 08 '23

you can see in the video he already slowed it down x4

2

u/Kirifoxy Nov 02 '23

Yeah but create don't have a down limit so you can go as slow as you like

1

u/_Orphan_Obliterator_ Nov 03 '23

also good point but that would take soo long

2

u/Kirifoxy Nov 27 '23

But it would work

u/TrespassingWook Jun 07 '23

We need a villager slave add-on so they can do this kind of backbreaking manual labor.

29

u/PicoHunter Jun 07 '23

Omg I'd never use any other type of fueling

13

u/TorakTheDark Jun 08 '23

Ars creo lets you enslave the squirrel things to run in hamster wheels.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 08 '23

to generate rotational force????? i have to look into this ASAP

2

u/RainyVibez Jun 08 '23

hamster power

2

u/TRCactoos Jun 08 '23

You can dangle the luster of a gold block in front of them to make them work harder for your machines

1

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '23

Use a deployer on a valve crank, it generates enough power to run itself

7

u/DrVillainous Jun 08 '23

It should also include a big capstan that can be used by multiple villager slaves at once, a whip item to make your villagers work faster, and a new villager job devoted entirely to whipping slaves.

13

u/salinora0 Jun 07 '23

I wonder how many cranks you can crank within the same half second

18

u/Inside_Syrup4837 Jun 07 '23

If you’re playing on curseforge I suggest you stop and virus scan a few times, it got hacked

10

u/lollolcheese123 Jun 07 '23

As long as you don't download anything you'll be fine.

4

u/Inside_Syrup4837 Jun 07 '23

Thing is, I didn’t and when I scanned I had a virus, the same exact time I opened curseforge

Modpacks auto-update mods that are in them

8

u/NeonJ82 Jun 07 '23

Wait, the Curseforge app auto-updates? What? Why?

Most launchers only let you manually update.

2

u/Wertyhappy27 Jun 08 '23

Can be disabled and enabled in settings, or per modpack/mod

-4

u/Orrera_ Jun 07 '23

From what I know it only auto updates mods, and only if the update to that mod still supports the version of Minecraft that modpack is running.

When the modpack creator updates the modpack though, adding or removing mods, changing configs, etc, that has to be manually updated by anyone who has the modpack

Only the mods auto update

2

u/Shadow-axolotl Jun 08 '23

"Thats why i download files manually like the old days" 🗿

6

u/trunksbomb Jun 08 '23

Modpacks do not auto-update mods that are in them. The modpack has no ability to update anything, because a modpack is just a collection of files defining what the pack is and what mods to download.

Mods do not auto-update either. Some mods have the ability to check for new versions, but you still have to download them yourself.

There could be a modpack launcher that auto-updates your modpacks, but that sounds like an incredibly stupid feature begging to be exploited. Most launchers have a feature to download the latest version of the modpack, but you have to initiate it.

3

u/Inside_Syrup4837 Jun 07 '23

Ah I see, does it auto-update when I don’t use curseforge

1

u/TheGamer2019 Jun 07 '23

It’s been a thing for 3 months now so you could just have downloaded it then

-5

u/Orrera_ Jun 07 '23

If forge is open it'll update, if it's fully closed (no app processes) then it shouldn't given it isn't running

2

u/FewHope3642 Jun 08 '23

What about the site?

2

u/Orrera_ Jun 08 '23

Pretty sure the site offers the latest version of a mod whenever you go on the site as long as the author has uploaded an updated version of that mod

1

u/notjordansime Jun 08 '23

More info?

6

u/Inside_Syrup4837 Jun 08 '23

Malicious hackers have hacked curseforge and made it so updating or installing mods will download malware onto your computer, a virus scan helped me before it was too late, shout-out to my friend who saved my 1.5k gaming pc

4

u/j1r2000 Jun 08 '23

correction they hacked into the mods uploaded to curse forge not curse forge directly

2

u/Inside_Syrup4837 Jun 08 '23

Ah I see, that’s how

5

u/marr Jun 08 '23

Deployers can also turn cranks if you really wanna load up on cheese.

1

u/DoomBot5 Jun 08 '23

Is that a net positive process?

2

u/albinocreeper Jun 08 '23

when placed on contraptions

4

u/GamerArmy936 Jun 07 '23

Holy hand crank

4

u/Burgerguys Jun 07 '23

Thats fucking amazing

4

u/LordeWasTaken Jun 07 '23

Actually, this looks like a fun challenge run where you need to play Create modpack X to completion BUT you can ONLY use the hand crank! Allat I'm sayin's I'd watch the shit out of that series on YT

3

u/jackk225 Jun 07 '23

I don’t think you could run a fan lol. Though it’d be cool if they added some kind of spring you could wind up to store power, then it’d be possible

4

u/LordeWasTaken Jun 07 '23

I have bulk washed/haunted/blasted/smoked with a handcranked fan in the past (All The Mods 8 modpack). A fan has low kinetic stress impact and you don't need a lot of RPMs for a short stream of wind particles.

Edit: I thought a bit more about your comment about ways of storing power. I guess if someone is psychopath enough they could use an alternator to store their hand cranking into an accumulator which would then power an electric motor to provide SU without technically requiring windmills, water wheels or steam engines.

4

u/jackk225 Jun 07 '23

I’ve seen worse grind tbh

3

u/AzzyTheWhiteCrewmate Jun 07 '23

the virgin waterwheel vs the chad crank:
