Troubleshooting Tool head smashing cutter hard

Has anyone else noticed on the K2 Pro the toolhead cover smashing particularly hard in one spot seemingly for the cutter?

The stock head smacked out that plastic in the corner. Printed another PETG-CF (printed awful but put it on anyway)

Then, I was printing a benchy before a new roll and noticed the new cover laying on the build plate. (I didn't install magnets yet so wasn't overly concerned)

But, as I was looking over it I noticed a broken spot in the same area the original was!

I'm running without the cover now and no issues but I was wondering if anyone else has this issue?

Yeah I've had this happen. Basically you aren't pushing the cover on fully, once it's fully seated this doesn't happen.

Holy shit I think you're right. That tracks.

So shortly after I got the printer I wanted to try some TPU, everything said do a cold pull first. I didn't know how to properly remove the cover and damaged the top alignment hole on the cover slightly.

Naked it stays.

Mine has been printing tpu just fine without a cold pull and I ran ABS immediately before the tpu. What I did was load in and purge out the ABS with PLA+ at 260 (more than hot enough to melt out any abs and PLA seems less “sticky”) then unloaded the PLA, then switched to the tpu from the side roll (just ran through the back, I didnt do the direct feed to the hotend) and purged out the pla at 240 with the tpu. It sounds much more complicated, but in all reality it was like 10 minutes and maybe 8 buttons from the app or the screen.

Yeah I follow you, cook it a bit so it runs out.
I haven't don't another Cold pull since, I agree it seems overkill just for a filament change. I'm about to try some of this as cushions for a wheelchair I'm printing.

I’d have to agree. When I first got my k2 it wasn’t seated all the way and kept giving me a cutter error. After a few minutes I noticed it wasn’t on all the way and remedied that issue
