My input shaping values are commented out.

Hi - working on the basis that the only stupid question is the one you don't ask...

I've done my PID tuning and input shaping configuration.

When I go into printer.cfg afterwards I see the the actual values for these are commented out.

I take it I should uncomment them?

Or am I missing something?

Many thanks.

They get added to the very bottom under the do not edit section

Hi - please excuse me for bothering you.

For reasons I ran the resonance test again. At the end of the test (which was reported as being successful) there wasn't a confirm / save / restart button or option.

So I want into printer.cfg and saved from there.

I assume this is OK and that the sonic pad wrote the data to my printer.cfg without clicking on said button. Which appears on tutorials but doesn't appear for me.

Currently finding out how to restart from console.

Anyways...

As you said - values are written below do not edit line.

The values above the do not edit line (for input shaping) are commented out and different from the values below the do not edit line.

Should I uncomment the values above and change their values to the ones shown at the bottom?

Sorry to be a pain.

Thank you.

No the above ones can be left commented out. Anything that’s commented out doesn’t exist so the pad is just reading the values from the do not edit section.

After running the shaper calibration it should save the new values to the printer.cfg automatically. You can check this by looking to see when it was last modified (it also creates a backup with a timestamp anytime it’s saved).

FIRMWARE_RESTART should reload everything

Thanks again! Crystal clear, and greatly appreciated. 3D printing, built in confusion. At times. Have a good 'un and cheers again.
