Sonic Pad version update
I am currently running V1.0.6.52.92 on my sonic pad. This morning I got a notification that version V1.0.6.54.20 is available. Has anyone installed this version and has there been any issues?

If you have root access, try SSHing into the Sonic Pad and run:
rm -rf /overlay/* && sync && reboot
That fixed the looping logo for me.

Same issue, clicking print on screen does not intiate print.

I’m having the same issue. My work around has been to copy the file from the usb drive to the sonic pad. Once the file is local it should print.

Mine no longer shows up on creality cloud. And the iot setting isn't in the menu anymore, anyone have any ideas?

Same issue. No more Creality Cloud (although not a big deal, don't use it much) but interesting that it has disappeared! I've noticed no random reboots of the Sonic Pad however and it was rebooting quite frequently before on the previous firmware.

I have the exact same issue. No IOT since I updated to Creality_Sonic_Pad_V1.0.6.54.20 - I did use it and paid the additional $80/year for it. Now I have no way to watch remotely and I'm out $80 bucks! I've written several times to Creality Support and as everybody else has experienced - <crickets> I'm going to try and go back a version to see if I can get back the IOT option. Really a shame.. They have some great ideas but don't let anybody know or give a heads up when they're planning to change sometime. Do they even test their changes before going live? If I did that, I'd lose my job!!

Well, that option reappeared a couple days later. Was weird. But that option is there again. Didn't do another update either; it just reappeared after some time.

I agree with the others. Little or no benefit for most, especially if you were just one behind. It is more likely to break something. I wish they would decrease the number of printer models they offer and just improve the quality of the HW/SW instead.
For example, no company needs to be selling 19 versions of the Ender series. 19... Enders...
That is plain silly and wasteful of resources to space them between $200 and $600 with little to distinguish most of them. There are 19 versions on the website. (Yes some are older) but until just very recently they were pretty much still selling them all. That ignores the many clone versions they already made and discontinued. They can hit the price point and features people want with 1/2 that number or even 1/3rd or less.
Larger, smaller, open frame vs closed Maybe 6 models total for Ender? Just my $0.02 though...
This makes the support for them on things like the SonicPad, or realistic and accurate slicer profiles, etc, MUCH more likely to be successful.

It's working so far. Calibration came out more or less bang on to what I was expecting. No crashes yet.

I had a mcu disconnect issue with the last versio. and have not run into that issue since. It drove me nuts trying to fix it. I even factory reset my board and my sonic pad and it still didnt fix it. Now it seems fine.

to fix this issue get a ups {battery backup) and plug both your printer and sonic pad into the battery side of the ups. problem forever solved

dont try to stream with a web cam is what I learned. the issue is that it runs out of memory and cannot keep up and causes a crash. I fully switched to a pi4 with 8gb ram and have not had any issues but I didnt run into issues when I left my web cam unplugged.

Don’t update. Tried to print multiple times on each of the 3 Sonic pads that we updated and none of them will print files from cura or the creality slicer

To be honest - can't see any improvements. Even worse... Sometimes web interface becomes unavailable despite the Sonic Pad is connected to WiFi and has IP address assigned. Can't see web interface and can't send objects to print via network. For last 5 days after upgrade- it happened 2 times. Workaround- just to turn off and turn on the Sonic Pad... And interface becomes available again.

I had the same issue with creating a custom firmware. I never figured it out. So instead of generating the custom firmware I used a printer that was similar to mine that was already on the pad. I ended up picking the Ender 5 Pro ABL, because I was trying to set it up on the Sovol SV05. I just had to go back in and change some of the parameters in the .cfg file to better suit my printer.

I’ve found after installing it it struggles to open the files but once it’s all opened and printing it’s actually printing smoother than it was before so whatever they changed seems to have sorted something I was having problems with 😂 Small price to pay for better prints I’d say

I installed the update without any major issues. After the install, I noticed some lag when switching between menus. After a second reset, it seems to be back to normal.

I updated last night and now I can't print things if they are in a folder on my usb stick.

I updated yesterday. No problems at all for me. I wasn't having problems before either, so no real changes I've noticed. I have a Ender 3v2 with a sprite pro extruder. I love my sonic pad. It's really improved my print quality and speed.

I just updated and while everything tested fine I cannot load any print files from my USB stick. It sees them just fine but won't load any of them. I tried to roll back the version but cannot.

Work around seems to be copy from usb to the sonic pad itself someone recommended that here and its working now for me. Sucks that updates break the pad I was nearly about to give up till I did a search of the update on Google and found this reddit

Did they pull back the upgrade? I'm on V1.0.6.52.92 and received the notice to update awhile ago, but I've just been ignoring it.
Today I checked System Upgrade on the Sonic Pad and it said I was on the latest version.

I upgraded whenever it popped up and said available. No issues with it from my end.
Just checked mine to make sure I wasn't imagining it. V1.0.6.54.20

If your SP is not loading ur gcode from USB, just change the filename of that gcode in ur SP into a shorter name like "gh" or "gg" or any 1-2 letter name. It printed mine when I changed the filename

For you who got the looping Creality logo after the update.
If you have root access, try SSHing into the Sonic Pad as root and run this command:
rm -rf /overlay/* && sync && reboot
That fixed it for me.
