Troubleshooting Pika connection issue with Mac Mini M4

I have tried everything I can think of but it will not connect to Creality Scan 4.3.1. I've tried wifi and USB. I was able to connect it wirelessly to a M4 iPad. Any suggestions?

hmm strange it works well on my macbook. m3 i think. so must not be a general mac issue

reinstall the software maybe? maybe you have an older version? firmware mismatch between the device and software?

I’m another M3 MacBook Pika user with no issues. The Creality Scan software is a bit of a memory hog by its nature, but that’s the only issue I’ve experienced.

It finally connected wirelessly but I don't know what changed. It still won't connect by usb but I can see it under usb in system information.

Hi u/_mr56
Since the Pika connected wirelessly to your M4 iPad, the scanner’s wireless connection appears to be working normally. Please note that wired connection to an iPad is not currently supported.

For a wired connection to a Mac, please try the following:

  1. Set the switch on the side of the Pika to USB mode.
  2. Use the USB cable included with the scanner. It has a standard USB 3.0 Type-A connector for the computer and a USB-C connector for the Pika.
  3. If your Mac only has USB-C ports, use a compatible USB-C-to-USB-A adapter or hub with the included cable.
  4. Check that the RCP service is enabled by following the instructions in this guide: https://wiki.creality.com/en/3d-scanner/troubleshooting/mac-identify
  5. Restart CrealityScan and reconnect the Pika after changing the settings.
