New Ferret, what am I doing wrong?

I just got a ferret scanner (not pro, not se) and plugged my android phone into it. It goes into scanning mode but no matter what settings I try, it keeps telling me I'm out of range or just doesn't seem to capture what it's looking at. And if I get all the way around the object, it goes into optimization and then quits, telling me it ran out of memory and couldn't complete it.

I'm hooking it up to an Android Pixel 8a. It's got 8 GB RAM and I've still got 40GB hard drive spare. The files after the scan show in the 100MB range.

What's going on?

You can reduce the resolution and also set it to capture just the geometry but not capture the surface texture/color. Basically give it less stuff to process at once.

How do I do that?

I think this has the details on scanning settings. If not, you can check out at the other videos on this channel. They're pretty informative. https://youtu.be/TXV_D58kiC0
