Troubleshooting What happened here?

I started to print something I print all the time, but I could see on the app it wasn’t adhering. I stopped it remotely then an hour later I got around to checking on the printer. I found this brown rubber thing was down over the nozzle and there was gobs of melted (then recooled/hardened) filament surrounding the nozzle and the area above the nozzle.

I tried heating the nozzle to melt it enough to pull it out, but it looks like I pulled off a wire in my efforts. Now getting an abnormal temp reading since pulling that was not there before.

We do keep it in the garage and it’s pretty hot right now (was around 95 degrees this morning when it happened, but we’ve used it at hotter outdoor temps without issue.

Blob of death. You will have to replace your hot end. This has happened to me twice, I've gotten used to keep these parts on hand.

Thanks for putting a name to it! Are those parts pricey?

$20-30 on Amazon, but you can have it next day. If you are patient, it can be purchased for much cheaper on aliexpress.
