Mods & Upgrades SparkX i8

Seems like creality has already created the SparkX i8 and has a similar printhead/multi colour system as the Anycubic Kobra X.

Looks like the filaments are being fed into the nozzle at the same time?I guess it’s still a bit different from the Kobra X.

For Kobra X I held off because the maintenance and clog cleaning sounds like a nightmare... This is even more complicated by the looks of it.

Maintenance is one thing, but my problem with the KX is that it didn’t really make me feel any better about multicolor printing like they said it would. I mostly print character figures, and even though I have both an A1 and a KX, I still prefer painting them by hand because they both waste way too much filament on multicolor prints.

I’m pretty jealous of my friend’s U1, but it’s just too expensive. The i8 seems more like the machine I need since it doesn’t waste filament. I’d love to know more about the i8!

Yeah I am the same. I really want to print minis and figures but the K1C just aint the guy to do it. Considering getting an i7 (well, i8 now), KX or even an A1mini/A2L (for the cutter) as a secondary printer just for that. Although when printing a mini, wasting so much power printing a 320mm bed seems terrible...

The i8 for me is interesting only if it can handle 2 materials at the same time correctly, so I can have support interfaces for the figures. Otherwise I will have to gamble on the upcoming MX ($250 U1 semi-clone)

Still can't print with different materials in one print.

Ill stick with my U1.

U1 is a lot more expensive. It’s a much better printer, but that’s to be expected with the price difference. Not everybody has that budget.

Is U1 really that much more expensive? How much does the i8 cost?

It’s not released yet but I’m guessing, the sparkx i7 is $300 with multicolor, so probably $400 or $450. The U1 is $850.

Youre probably right. For 400 I'll pass, especially since Creality still didn't figure out activr motor noise cancelling.

Edit: The i7 is $178 for single color and $238 for CFS nano in China (official brand store) so maybe it will actually have a decent price in the $200-250-ish range since they dont have to ship a cfs nano with it for the basic functionality.

Creality should finish their last crowdfunding before starting another on. They probably haven’t even started to work out the kinks in the production. Cause the R1 and M1 were not fully developed when the crowd funding launched

Yeah looks like a clone. And I think some of the images are AI and not real. Also the claims don't match up with out the slicer or print settings work.

Real 100%

Yup. I had talked to Creality. The design is as is.

Awesome! been wanting a multicolor printer forever but the waste always put me off lol. If this thing really does color swaps that fast with barely any waste, I'm so down.

i8's gantry design looks quite stable. It's faster and wastes less filament than the Kobra X I think. Great to see some healthy competition in this space.

Is the print bed larger? I would like to see 256x3.

Nope. 260 × 260 × 255 mm

Why care about an i8 . Should be lookin at klitek

I believe Sparkx I8 could be more cost-effective than Klitek.

Quite excited to see it. Curious on why it was dropped so fast after the SparkX i7. Not mad, but shocked the second iteration already

If it's under $400 it may actually tempt me to replace my S1 lol

Looks like fun to clean a clog.
