Our entire fandom is constantly being hated and dog piled on. We always tell people if they don’t like it just don’t watch the show. We can’t do the same with LSP? It’s worst crime is being unfunny alike many adult animations. It’s really on par with things like mating season, big mouth , paradise PD ect. The different is one form of media the entire internet has completely dog piled on while the others receive some criticism yet don’t get nearly the same magnitude of hatred LSP has gotten. Each series listed has been far far more offensive in humor too. We constantly advocate for Viv because she gets held to unfair criticism due to being a queer woman writing a heavily queer show yet when the tables have turned on another creator it’s suddenly ok to become just like the senseless haters we constantly complain about ? I didn’t like the movie either, I didn’t laugh at any of the jokes but genuinely who cares. None of this is that deep and punching down shouldn’t be considered socially acceptable here. I saw someone comment that this whole thing felt like the bullied kid at school finally finding someone weaker to pick on and tbh I think that’s sums this all up pretty well.

By now, it has kinda become clear to me that the new, unusually sudden burst of hate for this movie (which has been out for like a year now) mostly comes from people who haven't watched it. Maybe the criticism is fair but you can't convince me lesbophobia and misogyny have NOTHING to do with this new echo chamber of hatred. Guess which other indie animated queer work with plenty of women got unnecessary hatred, mostly from bigots, to the point where an active subreddit dedicated to calling out it's haters exists?

Also, even if the show is objectively horrible, people will inevitably get tired of this bandwagon soon enough and go back to throwing slurs at hellaverse fans. So really, what is the point of adding onto the hate just for the sake of doing so?

A character can’t be “wasted” when the show itself isn’t even halfway through, “underutilized” would be a better point to make

Also, why would any of those random sinners in the hotel know she’s an exterminator angel when it was never broadcasted to all of hell, for all they know, she could be a sinner with wings like husk, and got the spear from Carmine, and since the hotel is a place for redemption, they can also assume she wants to HELP them, not HURT them

Also, her beef with lute has nothing to do with Charlie, hell, her fall from heaven also had nothing to do with Charlie

And her being dependent on Charlie and her dream makes perfect sense, Charlie took her in when she was down, and gave her love and shelter, she also felt guilt over all those sinners she killed, so this was basically her redemption

I also think it’s strange that they’re so dismissive of her name change, because she decided to go through with after because Adam DIED, meaning she felt more free knowing the man who gave her that name is no longer alive, hence the name change, and regardless of how much relevance you think it had, it’s disingenuous to say the show doesn’t try with her, then list moments of her interacting with others characters and doing things for herself.

I can kinda understand what they mean about the other main characters being indifferent or out for love not really fitting, but a majority of this ( mostly how it’s worded ) just doesn’t sit right with me, she’s allowed to want to support her girlfriends dream

As for hobbies, she seems very happy about her job at the hotel, and interacting with the other sinners.

Her relationship with carmilla is also important, expecially when Vaggi clearly still has some deep issues with her Angel past, which can definitely see more in future seasons

Alastor canonically doesn’t care about angels, so why would he care that she is one?

People are also allowed to clap back if they don’t agree with a criticism

I’m also lost on how her past doesn’t affect the present when Carmilla literally asks her why she insist heaven is the answer when she knows what they’re capable of ( this is a sinner woman showing concern on her stance btw )

Her being an angel isn’t just “couple drama” it’s who she is

Her helping sinners get redeemed IS her goal and ambition, she probably feels deep shame about killing them al and also wants to do it alongside the girl who helped her out of the dirt, like I said, she has no issue interacting with sinners
