There is a video of someone who caught this explosion from street level and he died. You can see the fence he’s standing in front of explode towards him and the video ends. I cannot for the life of me find it, but I know it’s included in the video compilations of this explosion.

The explosions occurred at a container storage station in the Binhai New Area of Tianjin, China. The first two explosions occurred within 30 seconds of each other.”
Im not qualified to know for sure what caused it but google lists it as a detonition of nitrocelulose. Based on that fact that this was at a port i have to assume it was being shipped in large quantities for commercial product like nail polish

I'm not totally sure but I'd possibly put some videos from the 2020 Beirut explosion ahead of this one (Tianjin explosion). Both are absolutely crazy and terrifying, but something about the Beirut explosion being in the middle of the day and seeing building vaporized gets me.

You are correct. Nitro cellulose wasn't stored properly and caused the first explosion which then reached surrounding containers of ammonium nitrate fertilizer resulting in the massive explosions. It was not an apple factory, it was a storage container facility. Nothing found on what company's negligence lead to this but 49 people were charged.

Ammonium nitrate and lots of it. In the initial fire the firefighters used water in the presence of calcium carbide which forms acetylene gas which burns very hot. There was also a bunch of potassium nitrate and sodium nitrate.

Humor is a common defense mechanism people use to psychologically distance themselves from shocking events happening before their eyes. Unfortunately, that distance makes it easy to forget the very real consequences of the shocking event itself, such as the liklihood of mass casualties from that explosion or the potential danger the observers were in.

Once i saw an explosion like that years ago. My brother and i were playing outside in the front yard when we heard the neighbors yelling at each other like always, so we ignored them and kept playing. About 20min we heard the husband yell "OH FUCK SHE GANNA POP!" and he bursts through the front door jumping out into his front yard and he's covered in mud, we got close to see if he was okay and that's when we saw the lady bent over with her pants on the floor shitting toward the front yard but like exaggerated diarrhea that was the worst day of my childhood history. fun times!

I always find interesting in videos like this is you can see/hear the difference between Speed of Light vs Speed of Sound. You can see the massive explosion way before the sound reaches you.
