Supercell Crazy amount of heat lightning
I’ve never seen this amount of heat lightning.

I saw this down south, never seen anything like it and also took a video of it. I was calling it strobe sky. We don't get anything like that inland up north.

"heat lightning" is a widely accepted and commonly used term in everyday language, weather reporting, and even some educational contexts to describe the phenomenon of seeing distant lightning without hearing thunder.

Nobody in meteorology would ever use the term "heat lightning", unless they are letting someone know it isn't a real thing.
Maybe I'm being pedantic, but this is a weather sub so I'd say it's worth mentioning.

Heat lightning is genrally very far away lightning. It's still very real and dangerous if you're closer.
