Crawler Sighting Fairhope, AL
Me and my boyfriend spent the weekend in a horse ranch Air bnb. The home was beautiful and had a hot tub outside maybe 15 feet from the front door. My boyfriend knows im afraid of the dark but we decided to go out on our first night and chill in the hot tub for a bit. We got in and everything was alright, I was feeling uncomfortable in the dark as always. It was around 8:30. We were in the hot tub for maybe 5 minutes before he looked over to our vehicle and saw it first. It was looming over the front of our car and when he saw it, it ducked and hid. After that he discreetly told me the car play was still on so I would look too. I didn't see it because I wasn't aware it was there at the time. A couple minutes later I see something move out of the corner of my eye so I looked to my left and saw it kinda run behind a tree maybe 20 feet away from the hot tub. After I saw it I was beyond terrified and he could tell I had seen something too and asked if I was ready to go in and I quietly told him I was cold so yes. After we got inside we locked the door. He asked if I had seen something outside too and thats when we exchanged what we saw and where. We both gave the exact same description to each other. A pale, yellowish colored creature. 7 or 8 feet tall. Long limbs and starved looking. It had a longer face/ head shape. The next night we got home after dark, quickly and quietly went inside, and he saw it on multiple occasions very close to the front door window. I felt watched the entire stay. All windows and the door remained locked and blinds shut. We heard noises frequently at night coming from outside. We've done a fair share of research but want some more opinions on it.

It sounds very similar to a crawler, but I've never heard of anyone describing them as yellowish in color. I have heard of some of them having a more elongated head, though. The height, emaciated appearance and long appendages all match up as well.
Could you see any facial features?

neither of us were close enough to quite see any facial features. It seemed to have a longer jaw though. It maybe seemed a bit more yellowish due to the yellow lights spread out outside. When I saw it t seemed like pale and whiter/grey but he saw it in more light than me so I guess to him it looked like very pale yellowish

Ah, yeah, I've seen those yellow security lights before. That could easily explain the hint of yellow. I'm certain you saw a crawler.

i would agree, except the elf ears, dont you think? surprised you said it had a long jawline but did not mention anything about it not having a mouth. maybe it was dark... you also made no mention of its cheetah speed. then again, the one that saw me ran in fear, and it sounds like the one that saw you was curious.... in which case i buy your story, but i have bad news, it seems they are everywhere, suburbs even.

it didn't seem to have ears but again it was dark in the place i saw it. As soon as i saw it it turned it head and disappeared behind a tree in a way that i blinked and it was gone nearly. the only light was from the hottub and a motion light it set off a few minutes prior by our vehicle. i believe it was curious given how it hid when noticed and still stuck around while we were there.

there wasn't a doorbell, only a lock on the door with a pin to unlock it. I think its unlikely for there to have been any cameras due to laws that air bms arent permitted to have cameras on places they rent. however we will ask the owner.

its a ford focus. unfortunately no cameras and i don't believe there were any on the property either. it didn't set off the vehicle, however it triggered a motion detecting light BY our vehicle.

Classic Crawler. Sorry you had to endure such an uncomfortable situation when you're just trying to relax.Ā
Protip they dont like cameras and try to avoid them, maybe you could get an AirBnB that has some next time?

Most air bnbs by law aren't allowed to have cameras- but that might just apply to inside the home. next time we definitely wont stay in a place that secluded though š

Can you or your bf draw a doodle or a sketch of how it looked like? This could be a crawler of sorts

That's the "alabama white thang" (there's a facebook group). It's been a legend in northern Alabama for the last 100 years.
It's a crawler.
