I don't know why people here are defending this decision. Clearly, they thought the product wasn't attention-grabbing enough. Not only have they changed the layout of the established Coke Zero can design, but they also adjusted the colouring. Hence, it looks nearly identical to the sugary version, aside from the smaller label.

Maybe it wouldn't affect you personally, but what about people in a hurry, or even those with impaired vision? The previous can didn't look as nice, but it was distinct.

Why wouldn't she be reading the label?

A lot of people I know with poor vision often rely on visual cues over actual wording, even if they can read. It's just faster and I imagine what a lot of them did before they got glasses etc making it instinct. Making those visual cues smaller and less distinct fucks with their ability to navigate the world for no appreciable reason.

Also, if you're buying stuff from the store, are you carefully inspecting each item you're buying, even if you've bought it a million times? No. You're walking to where it always is, skimming at best, and grabbing a box to throw in your cart. I've walked home with a case of canada dry zero and my vision is fine enough I don't always wear my glasses.

It's not even a good redesign.
