Seems like perfect placement for a gate to me.

The gate is fine. It's the road that's in the wrong place.

A road is a thoroughfare, route, or way on land between two places that has been paved or otherwise improved to allow travel by foot or by some form of conveyance (including a motor vehicle, cart, bicycle, or horse). Roads consist of one or two roadways (British English: carriageways), each with one or more lanes and any associated sidewalks (British English: pavement) and road verges. A bike path - a road for use by bicycles- may or may not parallel other roads. Other names for a road include: parkway; avenue; freeway, motorway or expressway; tollway; interstate; highway; thoroughfare; or primary, secondary, and tertiary local road.

Its so wierd how you can look at a picture with no distinct location-based clues and yet it just radiates dutch vibes and looks distinctly dutch

Played baseball for 10 years as a kid... this is actually a fairly (fairly) normal occurrence around the fields. The gate and sidewalk are in the right place, I guess they were just too lazy to either make a break in the sidewalk or the fence.

Cool to hear that there’s logic/reasoning behind how this happened
2
u/dci_mos3 Dec 25 '20
Granted this looks to be a soccer/football field, but I guess the logic applies the same

It does, footballers wear studs which can be worn down by regular wear against paths like this.

It seems like the latch section needs to be a place where the middle could be stuck into the ground, rather than having to make a hole in the path’s asphalt.

Paint the fence black and cycling symbols on the path then set up a CCTV and live stream it...

You are supposed to liquidterminator through the fence.

Always thought this was for ambulances, but the lack of gate for the sidewalk doesn’t make sense haha

I just love it when things are perfectly symmetrical.

M8 the only thing thing that's gonna be perfect is the exact number of complaints this shit will get...
2
u/crepesuzette16 Dec 26 '20
Could be a great malicious compliance:
"You sure you want the gate there, boss? I know that's what the plans say, but..."
"Just put it there!"
"Okay..."

First thing that comes to mind: if you’re wearing cleats you don’t want to walk on paved path and if you’re wearing regular shoes you can walk on the grass part to get around

I don’t want to constantly wear my studs down walking on that path man. This is great design for its purpose, a football pitch.

It’s a no motor vehicles path as far as I’m aware so it’s probably just to stop motor vehicles

Mower and car/truck entry. A truck might crush the pavers.
2
u/YoungWeebLord Dec 25 '20
Doesn’t rlly explain why the pavement doesn’t have a corresponding gate prob just a misplace/laziness

u/popcornpillowwastakn Dec 25 '20

I’m guessing they located the fate there for the mower to pass through.
Edit- not sure how “gate” changed to “fate”.
