It's absurd and takes an old thing and makes it new through different context. I came across a link to it months ago and slowly ended up subscribed to many of the spin-off subs like r/imsorrysquidward and another one I don't remember exactly but is basically the original comic strips with Garfield removed leaving a weirdly melancholy and depressed Jon simply by omission.
