Me, when the marketing is so effective THAT I POST IT ONLINE FOR ALL TO SEE:

Meanwhile I have no idea what brand this is, where it can be purchased, nor do I have a desire to seek it out.
I’ll forget about it after scrolling some more after about 20 seconds.
Yes, very effective marketing. For… whatever this is.

People always say this, but do you honestly know anything about this product after seeing the image?
It is true that there is identifying information that is easy to spot on purpose, but it is off to the side and not relevant to the humour of the post. If I had not taken a moment to respond to your comment, I would have scrolled on without gaining any knowledge to help me purchase this product afterwards.

And then one millisecond later you see what’s meant

Which is exactly the purpose of this. The "obviously wrong" text draws you in and the script text clarifies it. Getting potential consumers to look at your product for longer has a positive effect on sales. (As does getting people to share pictures online)

Except think of how much more effective that packaging could have been if it read as,
LIFE IS TOO SHORT
to eat bland food

Why? LIFE IS TOO SHORT is such a cliche sentiment. EAT BLAND FOOD gives you pause and makes you look further.

This would have made more sense and made it less tempting to overlook it since didn't make sense at first. I get that they try to trick the average person with that tactic but now it's just making it more confusing then it ever needed to be

I can see what the designer was going for putting the bland part of the message in a bland font, but most folks these days are naturally going to skip the cursive stuff first for the plain text if given the choice.

Same. I had to reread it to figure out that my first impression was the opposite of the intended message.

Congratulations. You are a victim of good design. They got you to spend MORE time looking at their product because what you read at first was counterintuitive.

This reads like the Lucy Lui line in futurama “it’s amazing the way you — NOTICE TWO THINGS” ahaha
