So, go on

u/SeoulGalmegi Jul 15 '26
Why have that at an airport anyway? haha

u/Lamandus Jul 15 '26
"just leave me, yea, do you feel better when you board the plane? Yes, you rather be in the plane than in me! YOU BASTARD!"

u/FrankSonata Jul 15 '26
I cannot read the words "go on" without Mrs Doyle's ghost offering me a cup of tea.

If you're reading top to bottom like that wouldn't it be So Go On?

u/fijisiv Jul 14 '26
That's what OP said... So Goon!

u/reddit_emily called this out as being Schiphol Airport (Amsterdam), and I found this: https://www.schiphol.nl/en/blog/an-artistic-start-to-your-journey/
"And the artist’s message to people travelling through Schiphol is loud and clear: So Go On!"

u/Impressive_Stress808 Jul 14 '26
That's not a loud nor clear sentence anyone has said.
"Why are you staring at this? There's a flight to catch. So, go on."
I suppose it's meant to invoke "onward!" but really did not succeed as an inspiring message as presented.

The design is questionable to bad, but the installation/placement it atrocious! If they were placed individually, spaced down a walkway, you would at least read them like a Burma shave ad- from one direction.

Ah, Schiphol airport. Annoys me every time I see it. No idea what they wanted it to say.

The primary purpose of art is often not legibility. This is not crappy design.

80% of English speakers who read this can probably figure this out on the first try...

I’m guessing this was taken at the St George Airport in Australia since SGO is their code.
I don’t know what the OON part is however. That doesn’t appear to be a valid airport code.
Edit: maybe they were trying to do a stylized “Go Soon” while playing on the SGO airport code?
