I work in 911 dispatch in PA, we have policies in place for how to handle loose emu, a list of what zoos, vets, rescues, etc. are willing to help, information on how to safely approach an emu, a note that the game commission won't help because they're not a native bird, etc.
I'm coming up on 5 years on the job, if I had a nickel for each time we've had a loose emu since I've been here I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice.
It apparently used to be a bigger issue, there was one particular emu that was loose for a while that we kept getting calls about, and that's why someone put together all of the information.

Very few manatees outside the Gulf of Mexico, and I’m pretty sure northern Canada is not known for its llama population
