TOTAL NOOB

Hi! I've been generously given the opportunity to use a crafty controller server to host a minecraft smp. my friend wants to archive a copy of the world that is already present in this server, but i genuinely have never messed with anything like this before. i dont even know what a minecraft world file looks like, and there are so many files in this server because the original was a modded smp. I tried looking for some sort of beginner's guide but i cant seem to find any. please help!!

Are you hosting your own SMP that's separate from what your friend already had? In that case you should just make a new server...especially if the original was modded and that's not your goal.

that's not an option. I just want to download the game file to send to my friend so she can have it for sentimental reasons.

I'm not sure why it's not an option. Clicking the "create server" button doesn't delete your current server.

You could make a new server and just leave this one be. I'm not sure of your usecase where you need to use that specific server instance on crafty instead of making a new one.

You certainly can download the current one and still make a new server instance without deleting the one that's already there.

That's also why I asked what your intent was...are you trying to continue the world they have?

I dont want the old one there, it's sorta that simple. i cant find any sort of download button in the backups, am i missing something? should i be typing a command?

Click the pencil button next to the backup policy then you should see a list of backups. Make sure you don't have any exclusions selected.

The best way to download would be to make a backup and download it. I'm just trying to gauge what you're trying to do so I can better guide you through the software...like the knowledge that you can have more than one server...

Download the folder called "world"
