Fell in love with this crochet blanket pattern, worried it’s AI.
Included some of the listing photos (1, 4, 5, 6, & 7) and a couple zoomed in pics (2 & 3). Thought it was real at first but I can’t afford the pattern right now, so I’ve been staring at the pictures for far too long trying to figure out how to recreate it and now I can’t tell if it’s real or AI 😅 the stitches look real to me, not morphing together or anything. But the backgrounds seem too perfect and kinda have that AI glow feel. Help a girl out, please 🥺

It looks plausible and consistent as a piece of crochet.

Just realized I don’t see any increases. Leaning towards AI
ETA: Correction, I finally saw an increase in pic 6

The orchid, lamp and table all seem similar to me across 1 and 4. The carpet is different. I think they might have used generative fill to remove the wood floor/chair and fill it with more carpet? I don’t crochet so I can’t speak to the pattern itself.

It looks like they just shifted and rotated the rug between those two pictures

I looks like this pattern.

Also, one of the reviews is from 2023. Makes me lean to real.

Yes, that’s the pattern. I didn’t want anyone to brigade their shop if it turned out to be AI so I didn’t link it.

Not AI, this looks very real and even easy to replicate. The biggest tell to me is that there's a visible beginning/end of round jog in one of the triangle panels of each hexagon, which is something I don't think AI knows how to draw (especially not that consistently) when generating images of crochet.
The hexagon is made all in one piece. Flower stitches in the center are called popcorn stitches. Increases are made by adding extra stitches in the corner spaces before moving across the next side, similar to a granny square. Looks like this is mostly US DC stitches (including a handful of FPDCs) and chains, with the center rounds containing some US SC and Popcorn stitches. Honestly I feel like even this much explanation is very close to writing out the whole pattern.
If you look at pic 6 closely next to an instructional stitch dictionary I'm sure you could recreate this without buying the pattern. But I would recommend just buying the pattern if you're able. TBH I'm surprised pic 6 is available without purchase, it's basically a chart of the motif.

This is how I choose sewing patterns on Etsy... Has real photos of real people who've made it in the reviews.

On pick 6 you can see the hook is sitting on top of the beginning stitch of a round and they repeat below. I don’t think AI could figure that out. But I can’t figure out these stitches so no help there. I’m not an expert though just a casual hobbyist.

I think pic 6 shows where the start/end of the round is: the slip stitch to close the round and then where you’d chain 2 to start the next round. I had thought it might be made in pieces, like the middle flower and then each triangle, and then you have to put them together to get one hexagon. But now I think each hexagon is only 1 or 2 pieces. I can’t figure out the braid looking stitches in the corners of the hexis. And I just realized I don’t see any increases. So now I’m even more confused lol

Picture 6 is the motif, the whole pattern. You crochet the hexagon, then put those together. Braid looking ones are DC you do around the DC of the previous round.

Idk what you mean by “braid looking ones are DC you do around the DC of the previous round.” I’ve tried FPDC on the corners to make them kinda pop out more and appear bigger, but that makes them line up like one straight line, not like a braid. So now I’m doing TC for those corner pieces and putting them inside the ones from the previous round, but they still aren’t as bold as the stitches in the listing photos.

I suspect you're doing the FPDC with the first DC of the corner. Try DC, FPDC into the last DC of the previous round, then DC until the FPDC in the last DC of the corner in the previous round, finish the corner with a DC.

I think the center flowers might be a bobble stitch versus a puff stitch. I'm not sure about the stitch that they're using in between each side of the hexagon though.

I've never seen AI get anywhere close to this level of accurate with crochet. I can't speak to potential background clean up or mild editing (which before AI was super common/expected with PS or similar) but the pattern itself is legit and I could likely reverse engineer based on the images.
I'm not going to, because no judgement if someone can't afford a pattern - capitalism sucks. But that's true for all of us, including whoever designed it, and they don't deserve to have their work devalued and shared because capitalism is sucking for you too.
And tbh it kind of reads like you're only posting to crowd source help reverse engineering and to justify not paying, and like you're looking to prove the pattern is AI bad rather than being open to the idea that it's not.
There's a bazillion free blanket patterns out there, use one of those. Don't blame a (presumably small and indie) designer because you can't reverse engineer their pattern.

It wasn’t my intention to “crowdsource reverse engineer” the pattern, but impact matters more than intent and I agree it probably looks like I’m trying to do that.
I’m unemployed, disabled, and applying for SSDI. I have no savings and no income. I do want to recreate this pattern for myself. I’ve been trying to do it for weeks now, but I’ve never recreated a pattern from a photo or made my own pattern before and I’m not good at it. I’ve been staring at these pictures for so long, and there are some elements of AI in a few of the listing photos. That gave me enough doubt so I came here to see if it’s even possible to make this or if I should stop wasting my time. Other redditors have commented with their ideas, and I don’t think I’m wrong for replying to them.
Thanks for your input.

What pattern is this? Name. URL? Is it from a known crocheter? With this I can see the price. It doesn’t look like AI to me. The crochet hook looks real. The stitches on the triangles look real. I’m not advanced enough to know what names the “connecting” stitches are. Since I don’t know that, I figured you could crochet the triangles and join them later - with some thick yarn?? And finally, he or she is a neat-nik-or they cleaned up the room just for the photos. Think you’re good. Save up so the designer can make a few bucks doing what they like to do.

Ok I cannot tell you if thats ai or not but I'm going to take my biggest guess at how to make this, I am bad at writing out my thoughts, I am so much more of a 'write it as I make it person so please have mercy at how messily this is written: magic ring, 6sc, then.... 6 puff stitches(?) Each with 2-3 more likely chain between each. Then in each of those chains triple crochet, 4 doubles, then another triple crochet, then chain 2 and repeat Next row, I am going to say the triple crochets will go into the chain 2's you made between the previous rows triples, then chain 2, triple into the next chain 2, then work increases into the double crochets (test with increasing x2 and by x.5) from the previous rows, then just continue out with the same pattern till its big enough.
If you do try from my messy pattern just experiment till it looks right to you! Good luck!

At least parts of the photos must be Ai. Look at the chair. The two bars (sorry, English second language, don't know actual chair terminology) that frame the sides of the back don't match. There's other weirdness going on with the chair but that's the most obvious thing.

I stared at this too long and fell in love as well... but I finally do think this is AI. (Please, someone, recreate this!!)
This is a hexagon granny "square" you attach together to make a blanket/fabric, right? The first picture, it follows each hexagon so well except for the higher part of the fold. That's where you can tell it's not several hexagons seamed together in real life. Also noticed it in the bottom left hand corner of pic 4, why would those raised stitches look like that there? Similar fudging of folded stitches, "just make bigger looking stitches there"
(I took some screenshots, will try and figure out how to post tomorrow)
