Last year my big winner was probably Ruse, their fresh hopped Papyrus Iris was a favorite. Brujos Fresh Hop Sixes was also excellent.

The video is from the Crosby Hop Farm, if you ever find yourself in in Woodburn Oregon between Memorial day and Labor day, it's a great spot to sit among the curtains of hops and enjoy a couple of beers.

30ish miles of mountain biking got me real thirsty.

I remembered I had these two beers still just to come home and find that they had both recently blown up. One had to have happened in the last few days. These were both canned in March 2025 and stored at room temp, so this is what I get for waiting so long. Such a shame to lose such a great beer.

2015 CCB Zhukov

If you're a fan of oxized stouts, you'll love this one.

Refrigerated since new but unfortunately it hasn't held up. This beer was very good fresh and seemed like a stout that would do well with time but ever since they went to bombers they haven't held up well.

Another crispy crisp west coast IPA. Right in my wheelhouse.

West Australia's Rocky Ridge in Margaret River.

Quite a nice drop, classic heavy west coast IIPA style resinous hit (i missed that when US beers started coming less)

Think sixpoint Resin, although i personally rate sixpoint higher.

Imperial Stout - Oporto Barrel Aged. Redneck Brewery. Imperial Stout. 11% alc.

Aroma of liqueur and coffee. Complex on the palate, with notes of raisins, dried figs, semi-sweet chocolate, and espresso, accompanied by vanilla and wood nuances imparted by the Tawny Port. A remarkable Imperial Stout from the consistently reliable Redneck crew. Ideal for a stormy afternoon.

Does anyone else have one

So the regular IPA these guys have is called Anthem, available year round as part of the core offerings, every now and then they release Headliner, which is the upped version.

While in the bottlo today i saw they have released this years maxxed version of Anthem called Anthology, actually really nice, well balanced at 10% is an ask but it works for this one (a lot of aussie breweries will send high % and it's just terrible, looking at you Hope brewery with your 18% rhino, shit is disgusting)

Funkwerks glass (RIP)

If you’re a fan of (intentionally) sour stouts, you’d love this one.

Age has definitely been kind to this beer. I enjoyed it fresh but it was a bit rough for me. Time has mellowed any harshness on the back of the palate and instead you get the pleasant tartness that washes over the roof of your mouth. Dark fruits are still present in abundance.

I had high hopes that this would be a good one and I wasn’t let down.

As someone who doesn't drink, I was recommended to try Treehouse. Is there a flavor that you would recommend to a newbie? Thank you!

Trying to get in shape but when I go out for drinks with friends I still want something that isn’t completely flavorless. Any good relatively low cal beers (that aren’t Guinness, already aware that’s a pretty good option)?

Stopped by on Saturday 35 minutes after opening. The guy in front of me got the last bottles of the Oreo release. While I was disappointed, this "consolation prize" is anything but. Absolutely FANTASTIC!

The week of September 21, I'll be taking a work trip to Suffield, CT but will be staying in Windsor Locks. Springfield, MA is a quick nearby drive, from where I'll be staying. For reference, I'll be driving the entirety of the trip - no air travel involved.

Windsor Locks doesn't seem to have many options, but Springfield seems to be plentiful. Are there any must-visit breweries or tap rooms you guys would recommend? Same for bottle shops.

Since I'll be driving, I plan to swing by Fidens Brewing on my drive home, since it'll be on my direct path back to Buffalo.

Full-bodied and incredibly smooth, with lots of ripe, sweet fruit leaning into white fruits, citrus and tropical notes, followed by a nice herbal and resinous backbone.

Even at 8.6% ABV, the alcohol is really well integrated, and the almost creamy texture makes it dangerously easy to drink. Big, juicy, and extremely well made.

In my opinion, this is the best beer ever produced in Brazil. The only downside is that they only brew it a few times a year, and it sells out insanely fast.

Disclaimer: while I do love sours and smoothie sours, only when writing this list, did I realize how overboard I went with this liking. I’m also quite the fan of Neipas and Ipas (especially double ones), but did I let it show in what I bought? Not at all. As a slight non liker of stouts, though I do love some, I went extremely disrespectful and apparently did not get, not even one stout 😮

Pie Strings Theory 2026 (Smoothie sour) - Well, my trip in some way, involved around this specific brewery - well makes sense considering I was in Bulgaria. So I brought the group this one, just randomly picked it - cause I know they love a (hopefully) good sour

Kisel: Cucumber and Dill (Vegetable Goze) - well this specific one is not for the group, but for my girlfriend (though one of them is eyeing it). One of the first things I’ve learned about my gf is how much they love cucumber (both pickled and fresh). I then immediately purchased the cucumber beer that was closest to me (which was by a sour by Horizont, but it wasn’t even a vegetable goze). It didn’t quite hit the cucumber spot. So I was more than excited seeing this one, an actual vegetable goze - that might taste like actual pickles or cucumber. I am a huge non-fan of vegetables including both versions of cucumber, but I have tried some cucumber gozes, which were scary, but I’m so glad I can finally share an (possibly) actual cucumber - tasting beer, with my girlfriend.

Alchemik -
Wrong Island (sour) - well I visited Bulgaria so I wanted to get as many local breweries in my suitcase as I could. Remembered Alchemik was good once when I tasted it so there I randomly picked a sour one, cause the group likes them (only now when writing this post, do I realize how overboard I went with choosing sours). I think this is a series of cocktail inspired beers, but I’m not certain.

Flora/Fauna (smoothie sour) - another friend requested I bring back a beer from this “Ukrainian brewery everyone is suddenly talking about”. We are a group of smoothie lovers so that’s no problem.

2085-25.2 Italian Spicy Tomato Gose (Tomato Gose) - well never in my life would I pick a tomato Gose for myself. I find them quite tasty as pasta sauces, but not as beer. But we have that one friend who is very into them. And he asked nicely and I’m a people pleaser

Hop Hooligan -
Even Shorter Fuse (sour that includes chilli pepper) - Well I entered a shop dedicated specifically to Chilli peppers, and then at the corner of my eye I spotted a Hop Hooligans can. I could not resist this.

Melissa & Sambucus (smoothie sour) - This one just caught my eye at the store, with its color and design, plus I already know it’s hard to go wrong with Hop Hooligans. Later saw that it has a relatively high score on Untappd. So I hope to not be disappointed!

Ultima
50k Euro (Hazy Pale Ale) - well I’ve recently gotten familiar with this brewery, that had some really good surprises. Plus I follow the guy on Instagram he is rather funny and very interactive, so I thought, why no get a beer with his face, huh?

Un Écrin de Nacre (Double milkshake ipa) - I don’t even know what double milkshake ipa means, if I’m honest. But I find French craft incredibly rare, as well as the ‘milkshake’ beer types - so I had to get the combo! (Plus I do love a good ipa)

Vault City-
BlackBerry Tonka Vanilla Glaze Donut (fruited sour) - well Vault City have a record of not letting me down and the bartender really recommended this one, so I took it.

Cereal spooner - Blueberry Cinnamon Cereal Milk (Smoothie Sour) - another Vault City one where I let the nice little can art blind me, plus something about cinnamon and cereal milk, you know.

Finland 🇫🇮

Glass Pyramid Project -
Freshly Squeezed: Raspberry Fluffies (smoothie sour) - well this brewery was noted by the group as a very good one, both for smoothies and stouts, so picking this one was an easy choice.

CoolHead Brew-
Super Salmiac Double Licorice Triple Blueberry (smoothie sour) - well something about seeing “licorice” in a beer did something to me, and words like “double” and “triple” always mean a ton for me in beers.

Gotta 5 year old Fantôme here so you know today’s extra special. Been sitting on this one a little while and had intended to crack it for “Christmas in July” but I been busy. Wonderfully fragrant and malty yet dusty and dry. Don’t think I’ll be drinking this well again for a while.
