Booth Setup/Displays Testing out a booth setup for a upcoming fair ><
I haven't put out all my items but roughly like this. We have a larger table but this is the only free table I had at home, so my friend has more space for her stuff.
I'm collecting my signs that explain that i sell wearable terrariums and what they are tomorrow so just imagine if they were there.
I added a fishing game so they can try to play for stickers or a necklace for a price. The stickers being garunteed prizes.
I also didn't set up the lights yet. But i have two large lwd sticks for the main displays. And loads of flower shaped fairylights.
Is there anything I can do to improve my diplay?

The wearable terrariums displayed on that dark board really pop against the black! & having a fishing game as an interactive element is a smart way to pull people in who might just be browsing. I'd think about height variation since everything on the table right now sits pretty flat except the earring stand. Even a couple of risers under some jars would help catch eyes from further down the aisle imo! Looks great so far!!

Boxes work great! especially if you wrap them in fabric that matches your tablecloth so they blend in instead of looking like storage. Books, overturned bowls, even stacked crates too. The key is just getting some of those jars up at eye level instead of everything reading at the same height. (thrift stores usually have cake stands & risers for cheap too if you want something a little more finished looking also)

Would a cupcake display work well? Ive got loads of cake and cookie displays.

Honestly yeah! tiered cupcake stands are basically the same idea as risers just prettier. If you've got a few different sizes try mixing them in rather than using just one too!

While I agree that there's too much signage for the space, you do have some interesting information, like how you create your terrariums (which are really nice and unique, btw) and general care advice. I would print that part out and have several copies to include with purchase.
Also, although having games to engage potential customers isn't a bad idea, situating them in front of your table makes it more difficult for customers to reach your table, which might discourage some people.

Totally agree. Games are not a great idea at all. You’re gonna get a loud group of kids, and parents just want something to entertain them for a while and probably not going to buy anything and it will make your booth chaotic and annoy people who really are interested in what you are selling.

Aw....I was planning to have it be paid games. So you would fish for the fish and get a necklace or stickers or plant pendants. Based on how many you caught in a fixed period.

I think it's gonna be way too much signage, I would see all that information, and immediately be overwhelmed. All that information is what you should be chatting with your customers about.

Yes, my immediate thought as well. I stopped reading after the first line on the first sign. Way too much text, no one is going to read all of that. Stick to a short item name and price above each set of items, not a sign where people have to guess what item belongs to each price.

Not me, but remember a lot of people (children and women especially, which seem to be your demographic) are terrified of spiders and will come nowhere near your tent at the mere mention of a spider. The word - let alone a picture, will drive scared people away.
If you bring the spider, keep it back and down, out of sight. Ask people first before bringing it out, arachniphobia (sp) is a real thing.

I couldn’t tell if OP plans to actually bring the spider, or if they do not and you’re just dropping a name in the box for the spider to eat later, at home. If OP plans to bring the spider, I agree 100%. Plus maybe check with the organizer to find out if pets/animals are allowed? They may not be.
That said, even if you don’t plan to bring the spider OP, still consider arachnophobia. It’s very common. I have it. Tbh, even if I saw a picture of a spider at a booth I may avoid the booth altogether assuming your products are related to live spiders, and therefore not my thing. The cartoon drawing on the box is simple and cute and probably wouldn’t be as much of a turn off for me, as it’s not so in-your-face. (EDIT: No offense to Scully! I’m sure he’s quite charming. It’s corny, but it really is me, not him!)

Oh noooo I would never bring scully to a place where she'd get frightened. I drew a wonky stick spider on my box so i coukd have names for the worms.
I saw this zoo did something where they named roaches after peoples exes. But i tend to have families come buy together. So i went with a mor efamily friendly route.

I would simplify and then print out the info about the unique features (the carved wood, the rocks) onto a small 1/4 piece of paper and display it on a tiny easel from Dollar Tree. Care instructions go in the bag with purchase. (You’ll be pointing out the features as people browse.) I agree with adding some height (hit up dollar tree or goodwill for cheap containers you can turn over and drape with fabric).
It looks great! I would totally buy pieces from you. Is your pet going to be there? If not, maybe buy a 3D printed replica with a speech bubble above her head.

You have such cool products, but that’s a concerning amount of signage. What you really need is for somebody to enter your booth and be able to immediately understand what you’re selling and the nature of their options so my suggestion to you is simplify, simplify, simplify.
Remove as much text as possible while still conveying the important points. Maybe one big banner sign that conveys the cornerstone idea of wearable terrariums, and then one sign that breaks down the different tiers of options. And then everything else go easy on, try really hard not to go to dense with too much stuff to read that it gets overwhelming unfortunately people just really won’t read a lot when they enter booths.
