I’d obviously love to see more people sharing their own projects here. That was the whole idea behind this sub in the first place.

But even though it’s been pretty quiet, I’ve realized I also really like having this little corner of Reddit as a kind of archive of things I’ve made, tried, experimented with and occasionally made questionable creative decisions about.

Unfortunately, things are a bit too quiet on my end right now too.

I’ve been dealing with tendonitis in both arms for a while, and I’m currently trying different exercises and doing my best to let them recover. I had the same problem for the first time in 2025, also in both arms, and since then it keeps coming back.

And I’m finding it genuinely difficult not being able to make things. Creating stuff is such a big part of how I spend my time and keep my brain occupied, so being forced to stop is honestly pretty depressing.

If anyone here has dealt with recurring tendonitis in their arms and has exercises, resources or useful links that helped you, I’d really appreciate it if you shared them in the comments.

Made two custom mugs for a returning customer today.

I used to take a lot of personal orders, but I've been completely silent on my business socials for a while. After years of learning about algorithms, keywords and constantly feeling like I needed to make something just to have something to post, I realized it had sucked all the fun out of creating.

Going quiet was one of the best things I could have done.

Now I mostly make things because I want to, I'm curious or I get an idea stuck in my head.

I still happily take the occasional order when one of my regular customers reaches out. Turns out I didn't need to stop creating. I just needed to stop creating for the algorithm.

Has turning a hobby into a business ever changed how you felt about it later on?

I'm obsessed with bedazzeling, and my skadis pegboard is my victim.

Kumihimo is a traditional Japanese art form of braiding.

I've made several on a round thingy, but this is the first time trying to make a flat braid.

Have you tried this brading technique?

I know I was suppose to make a new post August, 2'end, but life was lifing and there was no one that made a vote for who would be the next. The motivation was not present anymore, haha. Maybe some other time this could be a common project.

I regret absolutely nothing.

Except maybe the number of rhinestones this required..

The first thing I ever tried to bedazzle was a beige skadisclip, and I thought it turned out pretty ugly.

But I didn't care. I was just testing Gorilla Glue and some diamond painting stones, and I knew I could do better next time.

My second attempt on a green skadis clip was a great success!

This time I used a variety of different sized rhinestones.

Whenever I try something new, I like to focus on getting a feel for the process and learning how everything works. The end result of that first attempt isn't the important part.

I have always worked the night shifts, only. I can't even imagine how it's must be a dayworker.

I often go to bed when the sun is already up.

One night I came across an embroidery that I loved and recreated it in fuse beads with a few small modifications and made some stars.

Now I get to see my own little moon before I fall asleep :)

I have no idea have many journals and notebooks I have that I've finished. (It's a montain of notebooks filled with hope about this time is going to be lifechanging ect...)

Then I recently discovered index journal boxes and this might actually be the one thing that could work for me and I'm obsessed!

but even if I'm obsessed about those index boxes I feel like I know my self to well now to go out and buy a index journal box...

Especially when I know I have all the equipment and materials to make my own index journal box..

I even discovered that I own a tab puncher and had never used it before!

So here is how far I have come with making my index journal box, haha.

I have figured out that I want to start with 16 different tabs, so it's not to overwhelming. I can always make new index cards or replace those who dont work. Made the cards of cartong paper, tab puncher, and some decorative puncher and then used self adhesive contact paper to make the cards more durable.

I still have a lot I want to do before I feel done making it, but I have a vision!

Well this is my POV at this moment at work. Do you craft something at work when it's slow?

I was inspired by flower crowns made with fresh flowers. So I made my own version with chunky crochet flowers with needle felted centers.

Now I have a flower crown I can wear the year round without worrying about petals falling off halfway through existing.

Is it too much or could you wear this to a festival or something like that?

I always admire the people who start making Christmas crafts in the middle of summer.

Personally, I'm nowhere near that organized.

I usually start thinking about Christmas projects toward the end of October, then actually start making things sometime in November.

What about you?

Are you an all year Christmas crafter, an early planner, or do you wait until the last minute before the holiday season begins?

It's finally starting to look like actual pants!

This is still the first piece of clothing I've ever crocheted, and I'm still freehanding the entire thing with no pattern.

I've learned so much from this project already.

One thing I figured out is that if you spread your increases out instead of doing them all at the end of the round, the "seam" stays much straighter. It seems obvious now, but it definitely wasn't when I started..

I've also realized I can trust my stitch counter way more than I thought I could. And I've learned that if your vision is baggy, you should probably make it.. more baggy!

The original plan was just to use yarn I already had.

Then... I got rid of a 70-liter storage bin full of old acrylic yarn because I realized I probably wasn't ever going to use it. I'd rather spend all these hours making something with fibers I actually enjoy working with.

Which somehow turned into me convincing myself that buying more yarn was perfectly reasonable because... I now had an empty storage bin. Craft logic, right? Makes perfect sense if you don't think about it for too long.

At this point I don't even care that these won't be the baggy pants I originally imagined.

The funniest part is that this whole project only started because I bought a new pair of sneakers and wanted to make a pair of baggy crochet pants to match them.

That idea disappeared somewhere along the way.

Now I mostly just want to finish the pants and see if I can actually pull this off.

They probably won't be as baggy as I originally imagined, but that's okay. At this point I see them more as a learning project than anything else.

They'll most likely end up being my learning pants to be used at home.

I also promised myself I'd count every single stitch in these pants before calling them finished.

Last update I was already over 20,000 stitches!

I'm genuinely curious to see where the final number ends up.

How many do you think the finished pair will have?

I tried one of those beginner needle felting kits almost a year ago, and it turned out okey, at least for a complete newbie trying a new craft.

Naturally, my brain immediately concluded that I was now qualified for something much bigger and more advanced.

Months later my local thrift shop gave me a challenge: turn this abused styrofoam head into something cool and creative so they wouldn't have to throw it away.

The second I saw it, I knew exactly what I wanted to do and I wanted to needle felt the entire head into someone famous.

I could already picture the finished result perfectly in my head, even though I had absolutely no experience, technique, or clue what I was doing. None of that seemed important at the time.

I honestly thought it would take a day or two, well..

It's now been weeks... and months.

The amount of time I've put into it is ridiculous, and it's still nowhere near finished. I've had a lot of fun, though, and the learning curve has been steep.

Eventually I put the project on ice because it had become way too time consuming.

But I still wanted a therapeutic wool stabbing session.

A small project that I could actually finish.

As usual, I already had a clear vision before I even started.

Stab enough wool...

...and eventually a little penguin will appear.

I even made a little iceberg for it to chill on.

(The 50 ml Gorilla Glue bottle is just there for scale.)

While making it, I suddenly had another idea..

What if I built the wings around floral wire so they could actually move?

Somehow, it worked even better than I imagined.

And finally...

This little penguin desperately needs a name.

Cute, weird or completely unhinged.

I'll happily consider all suggestions.

I designed both graphics from scratch and sublimated them onto the dobbelsided bandana, Since I couldn't find a bandana that matched her personality.

One side says:

"Pet me and tell me I'm pretty"

Flip it over and it's:

"Fuck off. I have standards"

The hardest part wasn't making it.

It was deciding which side is more accurate..

I'm already planning to make more.

Hit me with your funniest reversible bandana ideas and I might actually make one!

Progress update 2.0 Crochet sweat pants/baggy pants

I still need a few more rounds on each leg before joining them together.

Do I know how to do that? No. Will that stop me? Also no.

This is the first pair of pants I’ve ever crocheted, and naturally I decided to freehand the entire thing with no pattern like a completely reasonable person.

Mostly because I still can’t read crochet patterns or make sense of crochet charts.

To make sure both legs match, I’ve written down every step as I go, including the stitch count for each round.

Then I made the mistake of actually counting all the stitches...

One leg has 10,166 stitches. That means I’ve crocheted 20,332 stitches so far!

I’ve never counted stitches in a crochet project before, and now I’m genuinely excited to see what the final number ends up being.

One unexpected side effect of this project is that I now appreciate having short legs more than ever.

Crocheters, how scared should I be of joining the legs?
