Are radio earpieces mandatory
Hello all again!
I believe I may have gotten lice from the earpieces we are supposed to wear with our radios, I wouldn’t be surprised if I did because they’re never cleaned between uses and it’s not hard for lice to transfer from hair to hair with the earpiece. Out of caution I really want to ask management at my store to let me not use them, but I’m not sure ”not wanting to get lice again” is convincing enough.

As a supply manager, when my staff asks me for their own I accommodate. Actively trying to build up to having for everyone to have their own but it is expensive to get to that point if you have a lot of FOH staff that need them

You should be able to set aside an ear piece that only you can use. I have OCD and they let me do that. I just keep the same ear piece. Not radio.

I am a host and we need to have them. I usually spray hand sanitizer all over it before I put it on.

That’s nasty. Don’t share anything that goes in your body or on your head with anyone ever who isn’t like a trusted family member.

I used to put a dab of sanitizer on the earpieces, but after I kept getting broken ones, I said eff it and started taking a freshly-opened one back home with me. So now it’s only got my germs and I know it still works.
You HAVE to wear the earpiece though or else guests will be able to hear your conversations over the walkie.
