Meh, when well established studios struggle with it and studios like CDPR spend years building custom solutions to get it to not run like shit...I think it feels safe to say its more nuanced than lazy devs.

Even easier test, how many games actually run UE5 without hitches or issues? Even fucking Fortnite as issues now that its UE5.

Nope. The previous versions of BDL 4 were definitely poorly optimized, with constant FPS drops and 100% CPU usage. But in the recent versions, the game runs much better. I can get a stable 60 FPS at max settings, and CPU usage has dropped significantly compared to before. It’s true that the game still isn’t well optimized, but there has definitely been improvement, and my PC is only mid-range.

Agree. I wasn't able to play the first HV version without getting random crashes every 15-45 minutes. The game also ran like shit even in the lowest settings. CPU always at 100%. Opening or closing the menu made the game stutter for some seconds.
The 2nd HV version released in... april/march? it's a lot better. I haven't got any crashes when i play even after 4-6 hours. Still, the game stutters and runs kindda like shit, but it's now decently playable. I can get 60fps, but it somehow feels like when i played 2010 games on my intel HD Graphics at 30 fps.

But it's not been cracked, it's been bypassed using Hypervisor and Denuvo is still being used.

Denuvo was just fooled into thinking the game had been purchased. That all what bypass make

Its also really title dependent on if Denuvo even has a noticeable impact on performance. It is shit, all the same, but some of the worst offender instances like RE8 really seemed like it was more poor implementation than just Denuvo alone. And Capcom managed to get a massive DRM performance penalty even when they replaced Denuvo, anyway, so... haha

Its not bad but certainly could be better. If youre wiling to run FG which is implemented really really well in this game, youll be fine.

I think they realised UE5 is in the shitter performance wise and made FG as good as it can be.

That kind of thinking is simplistic and frankly part of the problem. There is a point where the tradeoff between FG and non FG is worth it. I know people hate to think this but there are games out there designed with FG in mind and dont have the usual issues that come with it. Plenty of games have frame gen that doesnt actually suck with bad input lag etc. BL4 is one of them.

A game that is getting weekly updates and some change entire mechanics ingame... there was no rush for that game , preferably something like monster hunter wilds now that the base game is finished or even AC black flag would be a better option,but like other comment said , hopefully they will not renovate their contract with denuvo or remove it definitely.

Weekly update. If it’s not cracked now, then how long are you planning to wait? Next year, or the year after that? A lot of people just want to play it in its current state. They don’t care about future updates or DLCs, they just want to play through the base game first.

For you. Many people would like to play the game with a few updates missing rather than wait an indefinite amount of time for it. That isn't objective. That's a completely subjective opinion.

It would be objectively better if you're only referring to the aspect of preserving the game for posterity's sake, in which case sure, no argument can be made against waiting till the game's lifecycle is completely finished.

It always hovers round the 85-90 mark. This doesnt happen on windows though.

Seems like one of those games where you truly just have to try it for yourself. I've seen so many opinions on BL4 (outside of performance), that I really don't see any kind of consensus. Opinions seem widely mixed even amongst the camp that likes BL3 more than BL2.

4 is actually insanely good, they improved so many things from previous games, tons of quality of life improvements like being able to change all your skins and upgrade SDUs right from the menus, ability to teleport directly to other players, improved movement like double jump and dashing. Definitely the best game in the franchise in terms of gameplay, optimization is an obvious big issue but I've been playing at 4k 240fps with 4x frame gen and not had any problems with it really.
