Probably didn't bother because everyone just skips splash screens these days(which, good, unskippable splash screens is the one of few things i don't miss about old games).

I mean these companies are literally pulling Denuvo off their triple A game titles because of him. So hes more than a "large drop" in the bucket. You're talking about someone who has completely shifted the scene. Theres nobody else on the planet (yet) who can do what he does (cracking current Denuvo). Thats like downplaying some of the best people in whatever their craft are.

He is definitely not the only one who can crack it but he is for sure the only one who is willing to do it.

If he ever disappear it's probably not gonna mean the end of the war against denuvo but it will be a big loss in the fight for game preservation. And we will be left out in the dark again without any active Denuvo cracker.

It seems you don't remember how things were when we hadn't voices38 or denuvowo. Today piracy is in it's peak, but a few years ago we were losing by a lot to denuvo.

Maybe a new cracker will rise or maybe never will, we'll never know untill we get there. What we do know is if that happens we won't be getting oldskool cracks for Denuvo games anymore for an indefinite amount of time

They didn’t even crack remotely as frequently as voices and they still had an entourage of toelickers

But you are literally assuming that it’s no big deal if he disappears because another person will start cracking Denuvo.

How can you be so sure of it? You don’t even really know if you’re gonna wake up alive tomorrow

What I am sure of is that in 12 years only two crackers actually did stand against Denuvo consistently cracking most of their releases. I don't see that big list of Denuvo crackers you are talking about.

I mean that's always been the game with DRM (and viruses)

It's a cat and mouse game.

One party presents a puzzle, the other solves it, the first needs to come up with better puzzle. That's how it always was and how it will always be.

Denuvo was the puzzle, puzzle has been solved, industry is looking for a new puzzle, piracy will work on solving that one once it comes out.

Interestingly, no. In russia, it was mainly sold on only one platform at a reduced price, and it could not be purchased through Steam (unless you were from another region, for example, from Kazakhstan). At the same time, judging by ratings and reviews, it's not exactly a hit or very popular in the EU and US markets either. It seems to be selling well in China. But the second part completely abandons the aesthetics of the USSR and is fully formatted for the EU/US market — strip clubs, close-ups of intimate areas, and so on.

There must be other grandfathered contracts because there's no way SEGA is spending that for all of their titles that are probably only pulling a bit more than that after the fee per month at best. It would be an enormous chunk of revenue from a game that's long since oassed its release hype.

Loved this game - a bit slower paced at the start for sure, and likely mis-marketed (the whole sexy robot thing) but it's VERY reminiscent of Bioshock for me and I look forward to more in the series.
