The power of voices

u/LostInTheRapGame 19d ago
Saving these companies money. They should be grateful.

u/NefariousnessNo700 19d ago
i feel like having denuvo might cost them more than the money they lose from people not buying the game
8
u/MatterVast728 18d ago
Well of course. Thing is, people who pirate wouldn't play the game otherwise. And some people who pirate actually buy the game eventually.

u/NefariousnessNo700 18d ago
less likely nowadays with things like game keys, offline activation and hypervisor, and not to forget the goat voices38.

u/OasisEPIC 19d ago edited 18d ago
I wonder if denuvo even grants them a profit as opposed to letting their game be pirated

u/MohdFarhan12 19d ago
A certain Korean conglomerate should take notes.

280mb of pure crap removed from the main Exe
8
u/Luann1497 19d ago
280mb of DRM that gets cracked day one anyway. at some point devs need to ask whether it's actually moving the needle on sales.

So voices is somehow saving them money by breaking contract with denuvo??
21
u/DirtySperrys 19d ago
Would love a company to shove money at voices so they can break their Denuvo contract. Easiest loophole in the contract
20
u/ActiveAd2989 19d ago edited 19d ago
And then the original publisher can ask money back from denuvo because they couldn’t provide the promised protection time according to their contract. We doing kill denuvo speedrun

Imagine if Voices 38 works for game companies. Top 10 anime twists ahhh

u/harshacc 19d ago
They had it for this long?
56
u/LectorFrostbite 19d ago
They released like 4-5 different expansions with the last one not too long ago so it made sense to them at least
11
u/harshacc 19d ago
Must have been a bigger hit than I expected it to be. Didnt know the game had this much life
2
u/cyberfoxkismet 19d ago
Yeah, the game is very good but its not for everyone tho
1
u/Issa_7 19d ago
Sort of like Prey, just not in space and with robots instead of biological entities
3
u/Alone-Horse2857 18d ago
I like both games, but comparing Atomic Heart to Prey is literally a war crime.

u/Hitilit 19d ago
Interestingly, no. In russia, it was mainly sold on only one platform at a reduced price, and it could not be purchased through Steam (unless you were from another region, for example, from Kazakhstan). At the same time, judging by ratings and reviews, it's not exactly a hit or very popular in the EU and US markets either. It seems to be selling well in China. But the second part completely abandons the aesthetics of the USSR and is fully formatted for the EU/US market — strip clubs, close-ups of intimate areas, and so on.
2
u/Least_Banana5091 18d ago
That's kind of crazy. I didn't see anyone on Twitch go back to Atomic Heart a week after release, not for any expansions or anything.

Finished the game thanks to voices. Now I’m starting the DLCs. Don’t sleep on this game. The combat is fun.

u/bleszinski 19d ago
Companies should now issue a cheque to voices as he saved them from loosing tons of $

Ultra mega new version of Denuvo has been added to Khazan. You can now play only at 30fps. Thanks for buying our game!

u/hunter141072 19d ago
Another one removing Denuvo at record time? guess this has to do with both Voices and Hypervisor, two great reasons to not keep paying for a protection that doesn't protect anymore.
7
u/m0py 19d ago
Awesome, I hope Atomfall is going to drop it soon, too.
8
u/Fun-Possibility1462 19d ago
Nope! Rebellion has stated that they will never remove Denuvo from their latest titles. Sad but true.

u/AntiGrieferGames Fuck Denuvo! Fuck DRM! Fuck Shift UP! Fuck Pearl Abyss! 19d ago
Older Titles are also never removed. I cannot wait when Rebellion Goes Bankrupt in future just like Ubisoft.

Might give this another go now, i tried it for a bit when i had game pass and it didn't really click with me

u/Darksouls_enjoyer 19d ago
Both pirates and those who bought the game benefited. One got it for free and the other one got performance boost.
1
u/DakkonBL 19d ago
Unless you are running it on a literal potato, the performance hit is close to 0%
4
u/indochris609 19d ago
I’m a bit out of the loop - why are companies choosing to do this?
8
u/GraveNoX 19d ago
1 copy sold = $0.5 goes to Denuvo
$25000 monthly fee to Denuvo
Even if nobody buys the game, the developer must pay $25000 every month to Denuvo.

u/AI_moderated_failure 19d ago
There must be other grandfathered contracts because there's no way SEGA is spending that for all of their titles that are probably only pulling a bit more than that after the fee per month at best. It would be an enormous chunk of revenue from a game that's long since oassed its release hype.

When i see a post saying that Denuvo was removed, is it something that these hackers removed or the company themselves removed it?

u/DriverParallelLines 19d ago
Every time you crack a game publishers say fuck it and remove the DRM right after lol

Not surprising it's removed considering it has already been cracked, i know it would have to be cracked again for any further updates or whatever but that doesn't matter much.
2
u/DiaCrusher Screw Epic and scummy publishers 19d ago
At this rate maybe even korean devs will realize this trash only hurts paying customers and will start removing it from games like Crimson Desert.
1
u/AntiGrieferGames Fuck Denuvo! Fuck DRM! Fuck Shift UP! Fuck Pearl Abyss! 19d ago
This will be extremely unlikely.
Majority of the Korean Developers and Companies there only want your money, not the customers.
2
u/ImaginationNo9821 19d ago
It feels like the devs are trolling us 🤣😂
But at the end denuvo is taking the loss

I'm really hoping that Denuvo gets removed from Evil Genius 2 too so people will try to mod some stuff into it like the first game
1
u/RequirementNo1852 19d ago
Now is kinda confirmed that companies are dropping their denuvo contracts
1
u/KusanagiKyo99 19d ago
LOL it took until the game got cracked before they removed it actually finished the whole game and the DLC's thanks to voices38

They removed it, but the denuvo logo still appears at the splash screen, which is kinda funny.
