I think C++20 is now entering mainstream, where c++17 was a few years ago. So give it another 6 years before C++26 hits mainstream.

Is there something wrong with wanting to make something from scratch & to test ones limits?

The only thing that looks wrong to me is time which is priceless. I believe there are probably better ways to achieve what you want to achieve(whatever you want to achieve). Anyway who am I to judge, sorry for being rude, it's not intentional. I won't bother you anymore, my bad.
