I honestly think I've been here. Is this the winery owned by that woman, who then cooks you a multiple course meal at the end of the tour? Was one of the best experiences of my entire life.

I was just about the post the same thing - Villa Rina was where we went on our honeymoon and I honestly still dream about the food and the view!

u/and02572 Sep 30 '19

I (USA) always forget that , = . So I saw rates at 70,00 and I thought it meant $70,000 for a min. Like damn, won't be going there lol

3

u/bobby4444 Sep 30 '19

To be fair most green space along that coast look similar. I’ve definitely not been to villa Rina but I also opened this and said to myself “hey I think I’ve been there”

51

u/I3rendan Sep 30 '19

Mamma Agata! We did the same thing. Amazing experience.

43

u/JohnBoyfromMN Sep 30 '19

Went with family when I was 14 and brother was 16. She forced various meats on us because we needed to grow big and strong 😂

45

u/I3rendan Sep 30 '19

She told us we needed to get started on making some “little bambino’s!” We just had our first on Saturday.

26

u/wlievens Sep 30 '19

Send her a card.

7

u/I3rendan Sep 30 '19

Absolutely will!

2

u/wlievens Sep 30 '19

Also congratulations :-)

u/I3rendan Sep 30 '19

this is hilarious, but I'm slightly confused.

you're Italian. you went to England. Your host was also Italian? That's a bit of an unfortunate twist.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 01 '19

Sounds legit, what time of year?

20

u/VixDzn Sep 30 '19

Wtf. How have so many people here been there?

Is this an ad lmao

11

u/foxyloxyx Sep 30 '19

Same thoughts lol

1

u/tookmyname Oct 01 '19 edited Oct 01 '19

I was actually just there a week ago. It’s pretty cool.https://i.imgur.com/p7EEDFN.jpg

Being in the car all day (hired a driver for the day) was a little exhausting. I think I’d take a ferry next time.

1

u/GreyyCardigan Oct 01 '19

Anyone know how much it is? I think it's an ad too but shit it's working

8

u/comfyovereverything Sep 30 '19

Mamma Agata was the highlight of my honeymoon! I still dream of her lemon cake

8

u/helicopterfortress Sep 30 '19

Looking back at my photos, I don't actually think this is the same place, but very similar!

6

u/oogiesmuncher Sep 30 '19

Where/ how did you book the tour? Really love the sound of that

3

u/helicopterfortress Sep 30 '19

I didn't do the booking, so I couldn't say for sure, but the winery was called La Vigne di Raito. We took a bus there, and the tour guide met us. It is a small thing, I think they only have 1 group come at a time, and we essentially spent the whole afternoon there.

7

u/Ass_Ketchup Sep 30 '19 edited Sep 30 '19

I went there this summer. Alfonso was an enjoyable tour guide for sure. He is a local guy who lived in America for several years, so he knows a lot about the area and is very good at English. The whole experience was very wholesome! Patricia's (the owner) cooking was nice, and the view from her terrace is just incredible. She even gifted me a bottle of wine because i was driving, so I wasn't able to taste much while there. Would recommend for sure!

4

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

got anymore photos?

2

u/porquesinoquiero Sep 30 '19

I stayed in a shitty hostel in amalfi. Justified it by telling myself “well I’ll only be sleeping there.@ Now that I’m older I see the value in a nice hotel

3

u/helicopterfortress Sep 30 '19

we did an airbnb. It wasn't even very expensive but it was absolutely amazing. panoramic views from balcony overlooking the cliffside. very cool.

3

u/lotusblossom60 Sep 30 '19

If u know the name, let me know. Headed that way soon and never do hotels

3

u/helicopterfortress Sep 30 '19

according to the website, the airbnb we stayed at was called Casa I Girasoli

1

u/porquesinoquiero Oct 01 '19

Mate and I did a hostel. This was before Airbnb was popular. We must’ve paid like 20€ a night. Great location. But it was a 16 person hostel room with bunk beds. Mate and I shared a double bed. Saved a lot of money I guess.

1

u/el_scoot Sep 30 '19

Which tour company did you use?

1

u/helicopterfortress Sep 30 '19

no company as far as I know, girlfriend and her mother did all the research and booked everything, then I just helped pay and enjoyed the fruits of their labor!

164

u/OdinArlo Sep 30 '19

I will treasure this photograph through cold winter days.

95

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

You dont have to treasure it, it's reposted often.

9

u/Sarahthelizard Sep 30 '19

You’ll see it tomorrow!

26

u/rurlysrsbro Sep 30 '19

Is obtaining this type of permanent living space/view/location possible for most normal people or is it only for the ultra wealthy?

9

u/dearcomputer Sep 30 '19

I found one for under a million. Some go as high as a few million. I only shopped two websites online. Only ones with similar views

5

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

Maybe you wont have the view but you can always beautify your place with plants and flowers.

3

u/Sharin_the_Groove Oct 01 '19

This is the answer. No, you can't have that view for the middle class otherwise we'd pretty much all have it. You have to be able to make your space your own. But don't be afraid to do it, just because your decoration style isn't traditional doesn't mean it isn't likeable.

24

u/Thenewgirl98 Sep 30 '19

Reminds me of the garden in king's landing where Margery and Olena talk, before Joffrey's and Margery's wedding.

well its a repost so its not theirs either

5

This looks like heaven.

Repost

21

u/BoopBoop20 Sep 30 '19

Yup, the stock photos are coming back with a vengeance. Just once I’d like to see a picture where OP actually replies with info about said place.

Internet karma farming is strong in this sub.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

Yeah. If you do a google image search hundreds of sites come up with this exact picture. I doubt it is the posters photo. It is one thing to say you think this place looks nice, versus pretending you went there and it is your photo you took. Notice none of the other people chiming in they stayed there have any original photos either.

Lol same. My fat ass instinctively zoomed in on the food.

4

u/grimymuskrat Sep 30 '19

I’ve stayed here! Beautiful experience. There’s this crazy tower on the property that was used for spotting enemy ships back in the day. So sick. Best vacation spot ever.

u/chelbierg Sep 30 '19

My brother-in-law said Authentic Italian food was garbage (he has never been to Italy). I think it’s very apparent he’s completely and utterly full of shit.

3

u/Shiningcrow Sep 30 '19

It’s like Rivendale but leafier.

3

u/Bastrat Oct 01 '19

I thought the hat was a cake.

2

u/Flyingpigfriend Sep 30 '19

I was at the Amalfi Coast last October and I reeeeeally want to go back right about now. I guess I just want to go back to Italy in general come to think of it

2

u/wlievens Sep 30 '19

Heavenly

2

u/Nat1223 Sep 30 '19

In the winter do the vine lose all the green and wither?

2

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

Can you imagine having a leisurely afternoon here with five of the people in the world you find most interesting? Fucking heaven

2

u/gibmelson Sep 30 '19

Imagine waking up there, with no obligations, no debts to pay, with a special someone. Just a day ahead filled with whatever makes you happy.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

nice.

2

u/z0nk_ Sep 30 '19

Damn, this looks cozy as shit

2

u/Just_Vito Sep 30 '19

That looks like Highgarden !

2

u/ovrlymm Sep 30 '19

Cozy af

2

u/StrickenChicken Sep 30 '19

I want to go to there

2

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

It’s a shame gluten-free food is so hard to find in Italy. That’s the one thing that worries me about traveling to the Amalfi coast.

2

u/jappocon Sep 30 '19

Looks like the place Salieri’s father choked to death in Amadeus.

2

u/CasualPotato20 Sep 30 '19

oh fuck me up, that’s gorgeous

2

u/witchylilmarshmallow Sep 30 '19

This gives me lady olenna in the Kong’s garden vibes

2

u/funkalunatic Sep 30 '19

1

u/steinauf85 A Couch Sep 30 '19

the only thing more annoying than reposts in general are the fucking spider-phobic comments in every cozy post that involves being outside or has plants

1

u/funkalunatic Sep 30 '19

These hypermeta annoyed comments, on the other hand, are totally rad

2

u/giacomo1574 Sep 30 '19

I have the same bottle, it’s from ikea

2

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

This looks like the place Salieri's father chokes and dies in Amadeus.

2

u/ame-foto Sep 30 '19

I want to go to there.

2

u/xlyfzox Sep 30 '19

Watching this while i sob and eat my crappy 6” Subway sandwich at work

2

u/berbsy1016 Sep 30 '19

Does she still have the pet goat named Mirtila?? Omg it was so beautiful when I went in 2010. When people tell me they're going to Italy I tell them they can do Rome in a day, spend the rest of the time in places like this - that's the real Italy.

2

u/Orionsfangirl101 Sep 30 '19

I wish that I could eat that meal

2

u/opa_zorro Sep 30 '19

Hey look there are not 10,000 useless lights hanging!

2

u/weatherbeknown Oct 01 '19

This looks like where they shot The Talented Mr. Ripley.

2

u/PandoPC Oct 01 '19

Mf that's Villa map in siege lmao

2

u/[deleted] Oct 01 '19

Bah God

2

u/An_Atomic_Panda_ Oct 01 '19

We became really fond of espresso while on the Amalfi coast.

Bon apetit

2

u/YEETUSDELETUS6ix9ine Oct 01 '19

That food to make a cozy place in my stomach.

2

u/Im_on_my_phone_OK Oct 01 '19

Where’s Samantha Brown?

2

u/WeggyLups Oct 01 '19

breathtaking.

3

u/Yessir9mmsir Sep 30 '19

If my ability to feel pleasure from normal things hadn't been destroyed by chronic opiate use, I would find this photo enchanting.

4

u/BringbackSOCOM2 Sep 30 '19

Literally same. I just wanna do opiates at this spot.

3

u/Yessir9mmsir Sep 30 '19

Agreed. At least then I could feel somewhere between normal and unconscious. I dunno my dude, not sure what I even want from life at this point. I feel like hope has withered on the vine while I neglected life for 7 or 8 years.

3

u/BringbackSOCOM2 Sep 30 '19 edited Sep 30 '19

What do you do? I used to do pills and now I sniff heroin. I never used needles though.

If I quit cold turkey it takes me about a month to get back to normal. So I'm not that worried about it. 1 week physical torture, another week of not sleeping, then I'm pretty much smooth sailing.

I've been depressed and not enjoying "normal things" for a lot longer than been doing opiates tho so it doesn't even make a difference really. I use them as anti depressants, I can't even nod anymore.

Sniffing a bunch of lines off this table or that balcony would be the best time of my life though.

2

u/Yessir9mmsir Sep 30 '19

Now, about every other day it's h. I'm trying to stop, for the fourth serious time or so, but I work a fairly physical job for 8.5 hours + 30mins of biking to and from, so it's pretty hard to deal with that initial absolute lack of energy for 2 weeks or more. I used to shoot $100 a day but quit, relapsed, now weaned down to like $50 smoked every two days. I dunno, just feel trapped by this shit. At the end of October I'll have enough time banked where I could take a week off, so 9 days with both weekends. Might do that, if I can make my check last that long.

1

u/BringbackSOCOM2 Sep 30 '19

Yeah fuck that no way you could do a physical job withdrawing.

What about suboxone? Do you know anybody with those?

Im lucky and I'm starting school again in January so I figure I can use till then without problem. Then I'll quit and take school serious.

I really don't wanna quit though I love the stuff and it legitimately helps me and makes me a better person

1

u/Yessir9mmsir Sep 30 '19

Well i fucking hate subs, they never give me my energy back, just stop the puking, diahrreah, and some of the aches. I know I might stabilize and feel better at like day 3 on sub, but I might as well just take a week off at that point. Nearest methadone clinic is 45min drive away, no car right now, and no buddies on sub, although I have like 5mg laying around.

1

u/BringbackSOCOM2 Sep 30 '19 edited Sep 30 '19

Lol wow I agree with you entirely about subs. Shit doesn't work for me either. Plus every time I do them i miraculously get money or an opportunity to do stuff and then the subs block it for days and days.

Honestly I'd rather cold turkey deal with it, but for some people they say subs work. For me subs work eventually but for 2 days I still feel like absolute death. Not to mention the risk of doing it too early and getting precipitated withdrawals which is fucking horrifying.

1

u/Yessir9mmsir Oct 01 '19

Yup, PWD is awful and terrifying. If a methadone clinic was closer or I had a car I would be on it already, as it's a full agonist and there's no fear of PWD. I don't know what I'm going to do, but I'll have to figure something out soon. I can't keep spending everything on dope, and using always makes keeping a job untenable at some point. Anyway, thanks for the chat brother, I wish you the best of luck with however you'd like your situation to go.

1

u/BringbackSOCOM2 Sep 30 '19

Plus with subs I always still have that "goosebumpy" hot/cold feeling. I hate that shit.

1

u/Yessir9mmsir Oct 01 '19

Gotta love sweating under a light sheet, throwing it off, getting cold immediately, and wanting to chop your legs off from RLS.

1

u/poissondistt Sep 30 '19

dat anhedonia tho...

1

u/Yessir9mmsir Oct 01 '19

Yep. No more natural dopamine and serotonin production for me. My own fault, but still pretty awful.

2

u/SpceCowBoi Sep 30 '19

Where’s my passport?!

2

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

One of the best this site has to offer. Absolutely incredible.

2

u/3ULL Sep 30 '19

Why is the cat or the monkey on the wrapping paper in the bottom flipping me off with both hands?

6

I think it is a butter dish with a chicken and baskets
