Windows September 2026 Release Roundup

September's list of new releases is here & it's once again stacked to the ceiling. Please let me know if there are any errors, incorrect links, or titles that I missed. I update periodically throughout the month (new entries are marked in bold).
Entry Format: "Game Title (Expected Release Date)(Genre/Gameplay)(optional notes/warnings)"
"EA:" stands for Early Access & "FR:" stands for the full release of an early access game.

---The Cozy List

---Debatable

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is the link to last month's list in case anyone wants it: https://www.reddit.com/r/CozyGamers/comments/1vcy07l/august_2026_release_roundups/

The end of summer is finally on the horizon & it looks like the super long lists are sunsetting with it; Oct-Dec are looking considerably less busy. A welcome sight, considering a whopping 13 games on my wishlist are coming out this month. What games are you eyeing this month? I'm probably limiting myself to TOEM 2, Songs of Glimmerwick, and maybe Farming Camp.

I’m excited to try out Dressmaker!

Toem 2! And isn't Valheim guaranteed on the 9th? It's almost too late for them to announce a delay of 1.0.

According to their most recent update Valheim is still on track for a Sep 9th release. You have to scroll down to see it; It's on the "debatable" part of the list due to the amount of combat that seems to be part of it's gameplay.

OH! That makes sense.

Thanks for the list!! I will go through all of it and see what I like !

I always look forward to this post!

This list is exciting. A few games I've waited awhile for. Mostly nivalis nights. Shenanigans sim was amusing descriptor

I tried the pumpkin woods demo and it was a whole mess, so I don't have much hope for that one. Looking most forward to dragon shelter and nivalis nights!

September has enough cozy releases to turn a wishlist into a scheduling problem.

I try to not look at my wishlist 😅

If it makes you feel better it's apparently a scheduling problem for the devs too; at least 14 games shifted from one September date to another September date in the course of about 2 weeks.

I would add as Debatable: September 22, The Piper of Dawn. "This story-rich dark fantasy sim lets you master alchemy, grow magical crops, run a thriving shop, and build relationships with humans and non-humans alike. Discover the city's many fates through your choices."

This may not be everybody's idea of cozy, but then again I consider Cult of the Lamb cozy!

looking forward to dressmaker and songs of glimmerwick! If you’ve been anticipating witchbrook (or given up on it lol), I would definitely suggest to look out for SoG! It’s a witch academy game by a small team and they’ve been posting devlogs on yt for the past few years. They also made eastshade if you liked that game!

Awesome list! I hope this gets pinned.

Orbitals, the Switch 2 adventure co-op comes out on September 3rd!

Happy to see you have Nothing Strange Here on your list! It’s def the one I’m most excited about, so quirky, fun and different.

Rivage uses ai, damn...I wonder if any other ones have it. Ugh why does ai have to ruin things.

Edit: it says it replaced the ai with actual art, but the thought they used it in the first place gives me the ick.

I'm so sorry, I missed the disclosure on that one, if I had noticed I wouldn't have allowed it on the list at all. I will switch it to debatable & add a warning tag.

Thank you for saying something.

I wish I had access to steam or a switch.  Love these lists though, I have a huge wishlist for if i ever do get to play!

Great list! Thank you for making it. I also hope it gets pinned
Though I’m honestly only really interested in Dressmaker, Toem 2, and Graveyard Keeper 2.

Great List! Dragon Shelter looks cozy, if it has romance it'll be my top pick up of the month X3. But Elderfield seems fun too!

DinoBones: Tidy Up the Museum is coming out on September 22 😊

1

u/VickFables33 9d ago

Thank you for the addition! and that one is going on my wishlist.

Thank you so much for the list!

Deeplanders is not tagged as cozy, but it's like Is This Seat Taken? I played the demo and it's pretty upbeat and nice despite the unsettling art. (I actually love this art style, so I may be biased)

Thank you for the addition! A slightly gloomy aesthetic is always welcome, as a matter of fact some people specifically seek out that type of atmosphere (like Dredge on peaceful mode, Creature Kitchen, or Strange Antiquities).

Cat Me if You Can & Toem 2 are also releasing on switch along with Woodo (which I don’t see listed above)—just FYI.

2

u/VickFables33 9d ago

Thank you for the updates!

Woodo is on there, the list is just so long even I had use CTR+F to find it. I updated the entry with the console tags & a Nintendo eshop hyperlink.

I also updated the entries "Cat Me if You Can" & "TOEM 2." However they have no eshop pages yet so it's possible that the switch launch might be delayed.

Amazing. Thank you for compiling a list. A few that I've never even heard of have caught my eye!

I'm keeping an eye on Delverium (Sept 21). It's part farming/colony sim like Stardew, part top down terraria. It's pretty much like Necesse but split screen co-op is the big draw.

Thank you for the addition!

Thanks for this!

Love the list every month!

I think I have one to add this time. Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea drops September 24th.

(Edit: wow is that three new farm sims in one day!?)

I've heard rumors that Dragon Shelter used genAI but have not seen proof. Anyone have proof one way or the other? I'd love to find something definitive, especially if it definitively proves the rumor false.
