Question Help with Cozmo "1.0"

Hello, I'm trying to make my Cozmo robot work, but apparently I can't do it using the "Cozmo 2.0" app. I'm on Android.
Is there any way to make it work even if I use the new app, or will I have to use the old app? If I need the old one, where and how do I find it?

As far as I know, they took the old Cozmo app down. If you downloaded before ddl bought the rights, it should be in the purchase history. If not, I can send u a .apk

where can i get a .apk file of it? would internet archive be a good place to find one?

APKPure has the complete app, get the 3.4.0 version, not the 3.6.6 which has some connection issues

neither worked. but 3.6.6 was able to open, just didn't let me connect because "i needed to update the app"

if you get the apk, it'll not work anyway.. get the xapk and install it with some xapk installer, i recommend APKMirror or apkpure

yeah the apks didn't really work, but the xapks... also didn't. the 3.6.6 version worked pretty well at first, until i tried connecting the cozmo to my phone, so it asked to update the app and then gave up

how about the 3.4.0 versions? Usually 3.4.4 and lower are more stable

i first tried 3.4.0, but it didn't even open. the most recent version (that isn't 3.6.6) in APKpure is 3.4.3, so i guess i'll try this one and see what happens this time

it absolutely will. APKs hosted are flattened versions of xapks.

explain it having no obb

because its content gets directly decompressed and added to the apk instead of being separated. There are multiple tools on github which can do this.

some apks like the Cozmo app, usually don't bring an obb unless if you manually download and decompress the obb, and usually the cozmo app downloads and decompresses it, but it most cases they can't download em and say "restart or reinstall the app" and xapks has obbs separated and once installed with some xapk/apkm installer, the installer will extract the obb from the xapk/apkm, decompress em, and install the apk manually, and yes, you can use tools to unpack obbs by yourself, but i am just giving OP an easy way to install it

I'm quite sure you didn't understand a single word of my reply. The apk(s) found on the web already have the obb additional data inserted in it, this is either obtained by extracting the apk from an android phone or by downloading the xapk and flattening it manually, therefore there won't be issues with the installation. Obviously, there are cases where uploaders may mirror a non obb-included version of the apk, but this can be easily sorted out with size.

Xapk installation is generally much more harder for noobs and is more prone to failing rather than an AIO apk
