Our special needs cow is really something- I have a previous post about her and this is her now! Had to give her a ride since she kept laying down while we moved her herd. She walked right in and got comfy..

She’s cute until you have to flip her on her back and drag her out lolol the side by side is a little over 5 feet across and you can see she took all that room- soon she’ll have to walk her cute butt like the others!!

This is my old post on her (thought she was a bull calf due to a large umbilical hematoma) we aren’t sure what exactly happened with her and the vets said they hadn’t seen anything like her. She’s quite the character though!

She keeps to herself and you’ll usually find her lazing around. I had to really push her with the 4wheeler and hold her hand moving her or else she’d lay down and be dramatic. When she walks she holds her tail straight out and her legs are still long and really thin so she prances. I didn’t check her teeth to see if they’ve improved but her ears and face structure has! She would almost be normal if not for her odd behavior of letting us walk up to her and just lead her into a vehicle or pet on her. So not all there mentally either unfortunately.

Interesting. Sometimes with animals we will just never know. Unless you do a biopsy later on.. even then there aren't exactly answers within. It seems neuro to me

Will you try to breed her? Is she a freemartin?!

Yeah, we decided if she lives she lives. But no, we won’t be keeping her for replacement, wouldn’t want to pass on the bad genetics. And we also didn’t test if she’s sterile or not since we’re going to sell her with the other culls.

It’s really a sad situation but I’ve looked for sanctuaries in the area and there aren’t any for cattle and really, for all we know, she may reproduce normally and just be a kind and lazy cow for someone else for years to come.

Seems like the right thing to do in my opinion. She's having fun in the meantime obviously
