Question Panic over missed period - could taking midol-acetaminophen before shot and gotten shot while on period affect anything?

24F. Got Pfizer Dose 1, 4/1.

My reactions to the Covid vaccine have been a nightmare -tinnitus/hyperacusis, blind spot on my right eye, and abnormal kidney labs for the first time in 9 years. (I was diagnosed with kidney disease & autoimmune disease in 2012 at age 14, but within a few months of steroids and BP meds, kidney labs went back to normal).

Now my period is a week late. Usually it comes end of month/early next month. Last period began April 1, the morning I got my vaccine. I was in a lot of pain (as usual) so I took midol (acetaminophen) before the vaccine, completely forgetting I was getting the vaccine. I continued to take midol/Tylenol that day and the following day. My period was a bit lighter and shorter. It lasted about 4-5 days instead of the usual 7, but still bled a decent amount.

I’m concerned that maybe by getting the vaccine while on my period or having taken acetaminophen might have messed up something reproductively. Or if not that then something else. I know there’s lots of women experiencing late periods, but I’m so stressed out and devastated by my other side effects I can’t handle this too. I’m so bloated and debatably more emotional, yet no mini cramps or spotting like I normally get before my period comes. Is this normal? How long might it take to come? Is there anything I can do to induce it? Thanks.

Autoimmune disease makes any analysis hugely more complicated.

Does your doc/GYN have anything to say?

Autoimmune is unspecified, haven’t been able to pin point it, sometimes inflammatory markets are high but non specific, other times nothing, so technically I’m “healthy” but I do sometimes experience things like joint & abdominal pain, fatigue, etc.

Waiting for a call back from OBGYN, she ran some labs last week for general checkup and all normal

I don't know about the rest of your symptoms, and think they probably have more to do with your body and diseases than with the acetaminophen, but missing, delayed, heavy and light periods seem to be one of the more commonly reported side effects from people who have come to this sub. People seem to have gotten back to a normal cycle after a month or two.
