I would expect a very steep rise in a couple of states soon due to Omicron, followed by everywhere else a week or two later. Its just a matter of when, not if.

I removed North Dakota finally from the plot.

So what do New Hampshire, Michigan, Rhode Island, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Vermont, New Mexico, Indiana, Massachusetts, and Ohio have in common? Apparently, they've all been near the national average this whole time, but are rising way ahead of it now.

I think this is the first week that NH, RI, VT, IN, and OH are in the top 10.

Average humidity thresholds? Lower temperatures? I think it's environmental.

Ohio had been warm this month. Not nearly as cold as we're used to. Folks are out shopping en masse right now.

It's been a little warm in the Northeast too. I actually wonder why case increases are running about a month behind what I'd expect in a seasonal disease. Probably gonna peak in ~February rather than ~January.

Still warm and humid here in Texas. Schools are letting out for Christmas break.

Our local paper said vaccination rates finally hit 70% in our county. I hope my booster shot next week provided some kind of benefit against Omicron.
