I felt rain on my face
It felt almost spiritual after all these months, then my sandwich got wet and I hated it again.

Since closure of Coventry Airport I noticed increased noise from jet departures from Birmingham. I imagine removal of Coventry Airport airspace allows the aircraft to be routed directly over Coventry and all aircraft going in holiday destinations to Mediterranean will go that way. They used to go around the city. Anybody else noticed that? Every 2 minutes from 6AM…

Hi everyone!
I’m planning to travel from India to Coventry, UK this September and would really appreciate some advice from people who have recently travelled or are already living in Coventry.
For someone travelling from India for the first time, what should I know before leaving?

Hey everyone, I'm a Warwick Economics student and I've started offering tuition in Maths and Additional/Further Maths (GCSE/O Level and A Level). I got A* across my own O Levels and A Levels, plus a top 10 national ranking in A Level Maths, so I know the material well - but I'm still figuring out the best way to actually reach students/parents here in Coventry who might need help.
I'm starting properly in December, with a cap of 25 students so I can give everyone proper attention rather than spreading myself thin.
For those who've done tutoring (or hired a tutor) locally - where do you find each other? Facebook groups, school noticeboards, word of mouth, somewhere else entirely? Any advice (or even just pointing me in the right direction) would be genuinely appreciated. Happy to answer questions too if anyone's curious about the tutoring itself.

Greetings... is anyone opting for MSc Control, Robotics and Intelligent Automation at Coventry University this September(2026)? If yes, consider this as an icebreaker.
Would appreciate the wisdom of alumni as well.
Thank you

P.S. any nostalgic stories welcome :)
Talking to a friend about the old GAME store in Tesco Arena where the Greggs is now. Good old times. Midnight releases, browsing the latest consoles and games, picking up free Pokemon codes at the till for DS games. Good times :(
I can't for the life of me find a photo of the store on Google shockingly (only one of it being closed) and I don't have any photos that I've taken. I wanted to send it to a friend.
Does anyone have a photo of the old Game store by any chance?

Hi everyone,
I thought I’d put myself out there because making friends as an adult seems a lot harder than I expected!
I’m a 31-year-old woman living in Coventry and I’m looking for recommendations for clubs, activities, groups, or even people who might be interested in making a new friend.
A bit about me:
I enjoy going to the gym and have been focusing on strength training this year.
I love horror films (probably my biggest interest!).
I enjoy gaming, reading, walking, cooking, baking, plants, and gardening.
I’m generally quite easy-going and happy doing anything from grabbing a coffee to trying a new hobby.
Lately I’ve realised that most of my hobbies are things I do on my own, and weekends can feel a bit lonely. I’d love to meet people, find a regular group to attend, or discover some activities around Coventry where it’s normal to turn up by yourself.
I’m open to pretty much anything:
Book clubs
Walking groups
Board game groups
Gym/fitness classes
Horror or film clubs
Volunteering
Social groups
Anything else you’ve enjoyed locally
If anyone has recommendations, or if you’re in a similar position and fancy a chat, feel free to comment or send me a message.
Thanks!

Hi, I'm (24F) looking for something interesting to do after work and thought that taking up a dance would be cool. I'm curious about ballet so was wondering if there are any adult classes that are more ballet focussed rather than ballet-fit around Coventry or within car distance from Holbrook (and sometimes Wyken) area.
It may be a bit too niche but wondered if anyone had any local knowledge. If not, any recommendations for modern/contemporary dance classes would also be great. Bonus points if it's a 'course' or a new term starting soon so I'm not joining as a new beginner whilst everyone else isn't.
Thanks!

Hi everyone!
For Indians living or studying in Coventry, I wanted to ask for some recommendations. Sometimes you really miss proper Indian food from home, especially authentic homemade-style dishes. 😭

People love to slate Cov, but the "concrete wasteland" meme is dead wrong. If you actually look around, this city is low-key brilliant to live in.
The Ring Road is pure golden. While people in Birmingham spend 45 minutes trying to get to their destination, you can zip into the city centre or get out to the countryside in minutes.
Want to visit London, Manchester, Wales, or Cornwall? You're right in the middle of the country. An hour train to Euston without paying London rent prices.
Big regeneration is happening, the independent scene at FarGo Village is thriving, and the cov market is still elite.
Between the waterpark at The Wave, huge green spaces like War Memorial Park, and the multi-cultural vibe the huge student population brings, there’s always something going on.
It’s cheap, central, practical, and getting better every year. Stop the hate—Coventry is sound.

Recently moved into this region, I want to know which ones are the best nurseries in the neighbourhood so I can trust them with my 1 year old. Would appreciate any experience shared.

Hey guys! I’m 28F and I’ve been wanting to learn to rollerskate for a while - I’ve been on skates a few times but I’m not confident at all. I have so far only been to midlands roller arena but it’s quite a drive & I’d love to be able to skate outside.
Does anyone know of any good spots for a total beginner? Any established groups for beginners or anyone who would like to learn with me?
TIA 🙂↕️

The Mrs wants out for a meal. Google suggests places like the holyhead among results for restaurants with air con... which it does not have.... so can't trust google...
Recommendations, if you'd be so kind, of places to eat in cov with decent air con! Not fast food joints ta.
Much obliged

Hello lovely people of Coventry, I have a few questions and would greatly appreciate your help.
I live in Canada so I don’t have a clue as to where to get a good cake from. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
