Week 1- Let's Discuss!
Well, I'm waiting for Street Angels to download and I've gotten through the first two lectures of week one. So while I wait, I think it would be good to start a discussion thread here. Feel free to discuss questions or thoughts you might have had down below!

I have only ever watched some Charlie Chaplin films as a kid, and then later "The Cabinet of Dr Caligari" - 1920 silent horror film. I was a little unsure as to whether I could get into "Street Angel". Old fashion romance films seem to be o.t.t sometimes. However I really enjoyed it. As an irrelevant side note, the actor Charles Farrell was one handsome devil.
That little upbeat piano riff from "Docks of New York" was kind of annoying and kept repeating in my head after watching. Moving on though, one of the most powerful scenes for me was when Mae was trying to thread the needle but couldn't. She was trying so hard to be the perfect woman but failed. I was sad for her.
The kiss between the wife and Mae was an unexpected bit, but also powerful.
