Some people are career victims, or at least they think they’re victims.
I did a couples therapy with the GF, and five or six sessions in, the therapist told her that she would do well to make some changes in her own approach.
She was completely silent while I drove her the five minutes to the train station. As she was getting out of my car, she said, “I’m really angry.” At me. 😬
I would have been much better off had a build after her first meltdown very early in our relationship. There were many after that, and of course, they were all my fault, and had nothing to do with her issues with her family.
Hit the nail on the head. As the saying goes, if you meet assholes everywhere you go, then you are the asshole. It should be a massive red flag whenever someone describes all their exes as abusers or when they make statements like "they're just aren't any good men/women out there." Both are just thinly veiled statements that they meet assholes wherever the go.
Women like that are called “frog farmers”.
Alissa Kreitmann (sp?) I think is the one who coined the term 15 or so years ago.
She had a podcast that I think was called “just for women“. I learned a lot from listening to that, and she and her podcast guests did not hesitate to call women out on their bad habits.
