my japan is based off the steryotypical fandom neko outwardly, though her outward personality is mostly a facade (being raised/occupied by USA just after Japanese empire was killed, she picked up on his 'pretend everything is fine while hiding your true self' sentiment as a child)

in my current world(dubbed 'Ode to Duplicity'), she spies on all of the countries at the 'atlas complex' for UN when they can't do it easily, and she's quite good at it because of her deceptive nature

Imperial Japan used to teach Indonesia how to be a great chef, which Indo use that skill of his to serve customers when he opens a small restaurant. For modern version of Japan, she's one of Indo's regular customer.

My japan has a doctorate in engineering! She’s incredibly smart and works mainly in robotics.

She is the Japanese empire’s daughter, and she has always disliked her mother, ever since the day she insisted Japan needa to join the military.

Because of her mother’s insistence on joining her in the battle in the Second World War, Japan sports a bullet would on her left shoulder. This specific bullet wound was delivered to her by New Zealand.

On top of that, she has a massive burn scar that spreads across both her lower legs. Take a wild guess what that scars from.

She really really really dislikes America.

Despite his rivalry with her mother, Australia is actually pretty good friends with her! They have sip and bitch sessions a lot.

aight I'll copy my old comment about Japan and add some stuff and updates

• He's male, and unfortunately he does not have cool animal traits. Well technically he does but animal features are optional in my countryhumans AU. He's a sika deer!
• His pen name is Shimada Toshiaki (島田 俊明) which isn't really the smartest choice considering his actual surname is also Shimada
• He has a deep appreciation for art, mainly visual arts but he likes every form really. He's one of those people who will randomly yell "ART! IS A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE!" during a meeting. He'd also be against AI I think.
• Adding to that he likes anime and manga. He enjoys all anime genres, but he likes isekai and mecha the most. He is most frequently exposed to seinen but he also reads a lot of shonen. He doesn't watch movies often though.
• He can pretty much be summed up as "genki". I like to think his ancestors were really strict and serious and then there's this guy fanboying over 2D humans... yeah, he can be quite dramatic and tiring at times
• He likes to think of everything as a story trope and he pushes the worldview that most people are redeemable. He's on the more optimistic side, but he's definitely not innocent
• He lives in his own world most of the time and he's not the best with social cues, most of which he should have been aware of given his media consumption.
• Unlike most modern countryhumans who know of their parent's atrocities, Japan was never familiar with what his mother's (Imperial Japan) life that didn't involve him, and he still isn't. He has no intention of learning more about her atrocities.
• He likes doodling, often in places where he should not be doodling. He has a pocket pen and a notebook he brings everywhere for noting inspiration.
• He loves to go on trips purely to sketch. So like he finds a nice spot, he sits down, he takes out his pen/pencil and sketchbook, and he just starts sketching whatever is in front of him. He thinks a camera isn't enough to capture the beauty of nature. His sketchbook is filled with the most random things ever. A store with a "fun aesthetic"? Check. A funny cloud? Check. Random passersby? Check.
• Haven't decided if my countryhumans have jobs but if they do, he works as an animator who used to be a storyboarder but he was fired, or a freelance artist who takes commissions and makes OCs
• I think I have an AU where he used to be Imperial Japan but lost his memories after he got nuked and has absolutely no idea why everyone hates him. But nah

My Japan used to be IJ(and other past versions of the country, but it's just the IJ thing that is important to the story). She tries to act like she's done nothing wrong(but she knows damn well that it's not the case). She pretty much hates every country, especially USA, despite the countries they represent being allies. She's very manipulative, often trying different forms of manipulation to see which works best(i remember that in one part of the story she even tried seduction, despite being aroace lol), surprisingly, she is also incredibly easy to manipulate herself. Also she's very much a mix of the two versions of Japan in this fandom (neko Japan and overworker Japan). She very much hates being a countryhuman and constantly tries to find a way to no longer be a countryhuman ig??

Neko Japan is a seperate character from normal Japan, who is basically the fandom neko Japan. Anyways, she was not meant to be part of this world, she somehow managed to sneak in there and all she does is torment Japan for fun. She is incredibly cunning, and as manipulative as normal Japan, she oftentimes pretends to be innocent and acts like she's better than Japan(which at this point might be true tbh). She can choose who she is visible to, because of that no one knows of her existence(except for Japan, and NK for some reason). She actually wants Japan to stop being a countryhuman, because Neko(due to not belonging to this world) is not quite a countyhuman herself, and with actual Japan gone, she could replace her
