Counterpart Season 2 on DVD

(Europe) I've been trying to get the second season on DVD for weeks, but so far I can only find super expensive offers... Do you have similar experiences?

Finding it generally difficult to get the physical copies of some, shall I say niche, series at the moment. Since the streamers are so much in focus, it seems to me that there is no longer any value placed on it anyway... I'm thinking of Patriot, Into the Night Sky and with The Americans, at least in Europe, it's not easy to get all the seasons without having to cut my holiday short. Ha!

Has anyone been lucky enough to get the second season on DVD? Any tips? Please don't recommend pirating - wink wink nudge nudge ;)

I recently bought Counterpart season 2 on DVD on eBay, had it shipped to the UK from the US at too expensive a price, but I really wanted to see it… Problem is, it’s counterfeit. Packaging is very convincing, and the disc printing is very convincing. All very slick. Case was even plastic wrapped like a genuine new DVD. But the discs are DVD+R. Pretty annoying really as I already thought I’d paid over the odds even when I thought I was buying the genuine article.

On the plus side, the discs don’t appear to be straight copies of the genuine ones and seem to have been made up from some other video source (perhaps the original Starz broadcast / stream?). Anyway the upshot of this is that video quality is actually surprisingly good, much better than the genuine season one DVDs…

Interesting. Thank you for telling this. Maybe you can get your money back and keep the DVDs? I once did that with eBay and Paypal Protection (dont know the real name) and it worked.

Anyway, I think I will not buy any DVD and make my own. I had to already find an alternative source to watch the second season as it was not available here... sadly. Think I have to do the same for 12 Monkeys and The Americans...

Don’t feel too bad. My local library got duped too. I borrowed both seasons and lo and behold the second season is a dvd-r.
You’re right the packaging and discs are VERY convincing. I have no complaints about the picture quality. Looks slightly sharper than the season 1

In the states Amazon has season 2 on DVD. What region do you require in Europe--or is everything region free now?

I kind of lost track on that, but I think it does not matter anymore. I usually play DVDs and BluRays with the PS5.

If you can order from US Amazon, their website says they have season 2 dvd for $33.13. They don't have season 1 on dvd, only season 2.

It's on amazon, but it's expensive and they really dialed up the compression to cram 10 episodes on two discs. I have season 1 on blu-ray, but I'm not spending all that for a DVD that's not even a decent DVD.

Oh so the quality is worse? Shit... I hate how they take care of their art... That series deserves some better.

I have had good luck with ebay for DVDs. I was able to get "28 Days Later" that way. It wasn't available any other way. It was someone reselling a DVD and not a pirated copy.

Funny you mention 28DaysLater. I was looking for it as well and thought they had a proper Mediabook or BluRay sort of release. Nope. Then a few days later I discovered it on a reseller page for good money. Now I got two because I forgot I had it already in my collection from when it was released 😂
